Again, this is an email. Not a publication. She emailed us, I posted it. Post 1 and 2 are formal, without typos etc.

Bravo, Calpernia. This certainly seems the time for Americans to hit the issue with everything we have. Please be gracious enough to let me join in with you on this thread.

“I was just told by my Senator’s office...it is first sent to Iowa to be ...put through a machine to check for toxic stuff, etc. That would delay the letter, until it is too late.”

That is why I hand delivered my letters at the local level. Was warmly received and assured they would fax it up to DC.

***********************************************************

STAND UP AMERICA! The presidential election is not over!

We voted for electors, not the individual candidates. The electors vote on or after December 15, 2009. The results are then presented to a joint session of Congress and objections may be heard on January 6, 2009.
See the letter on my About page hand-delivered to the local offices of my Republican Senators and Representatives. I urge you to take similar action, even if it is simply mailing a one page letter to Washington, D.C.

The piece in post 1 includes the two spelling of Dunham’s name in the same sentence, as well as the amusing reference to “Berg v Obama el all”. It is laughably amateurish. Anyone in my first year law school class who had submitted something like this for the required moot court exercise would have gotten a C or below. It completely fails to identify specific LEGAL issues, fills a lot of space with irrelevant rambling, and uses vague references like “(based on 1952 code)” instead of clear legal citations. It will be received in the spirit of Nigerian e-mail scams, rarely getting past admin assistants whose job is to make sure their bosses don’t get inundated with this sort of garbage.

This is a serious issue, and it should have been formally addressed a long time ago. Personally, I think it’s too late, and ill-advised at this point, to try to pursue the matter. Our enemies around the world want nothing more than to see the US politically destabilized, and that’s the only thing this effort can achieve at this late date. If the documents posted here are representative of the efforts which were begun earlier, back when it wasn’t too late, it’s little wonder the matter wasn’t taken up by courts and elected officials.

I don’t see your reference.

Why don’t you add what you consider a proper write up if the ones provided here bother you so much.

“This is a serious issue,...”
Agreed.

“...ill-advised at this point,to pursue the matter.”
“Throw in the towel” flavored Koolaid. The election is not over yet, see my earlier post. Buck up, the Constitution provides political stability.

“Our enemies around the world want nothing more than to see...”
The One sitting as president. Who do you think he was talking to in Europe when he made his “we are the ones we have been waiting for” statement? Clue: he was talking to every socialist in the world, many of whom donated by credit card.

If a dogcatcher can produce a birth certificate why can’t a presidential candidate?

“g. Madelyn Dunham, his maternal grandmother remained silent and never refuted the statements that Mr. Obama was not born in Hawaii and no access was ever allowed to any reporters to ask Mrs. Madelyne Dunham one single question: “in what hospital on Hawaii was Mr. Obama born?’” (and it’s also odd that she is first referred to without a title, and then the “Mrs.” is added for the second reference. This sort of mangled writing is typical of Nigerian e-mail scammers, who randomly throw in lame attempts to sound “formal” in the midst of a general mess of writing.

A “proper write-up” needs to be done by serious legal professionals, putting in some serious time on research, and sticking to facts relevant to a legal case. As I said in another post, I think the time for this is long past. I wish it had been done properly many months ago, because it is an important issue, but it’s water under the bridge at this point, and pursuing it now is only playing into the hands of enemies who want to see the US politically destabilized.

Agree, it should have been address much earlier but it wasn't. Therefore, it must be addressed now and IMHO, it's not too late.

This Country need a good "shaking up". The fact of the matter is something drastic is going to happen, it's just a matter of when. Me thinks it's better to deal with it now rather than later.

Again, JMHO, but what do I know.

Have a go at it and be our guest. We will be glad to cite and paraphrase your work.

Yes, now that you point it out, there are indeed problems. Starting with “pres. Bush” (sic).

But the style isn’t really Nigerian, just careless.

Here's the problem:

"There is a reasonable and common expectation by the voters that to qualify for the ballot, the individuals running for office must meet minimum qualifications as outlined in the federal and state Constitutions and statutes, and that compliance with those minimum qualifications has been confirmed by the officials overseeing the election process".

That, although logical, is completely and entirely false.

No candidate for President has EVER gone through the process of verification you are demanding of Obama. The REASON you are demanding it of Obama is, transparently, that you don't like him, you opposed his election, and you don't want him to take office.

This is insufficient cause for any court to intervene. You have an obvious axe to grind, and are abusing process to grind it.

It would be different if candidates since 1788 (or 1988, for that matter)had to go through some such process. But none ever have, and there has been no showing (other than the obvious, that you personally don't like him) why Obama should be treated differently than any other person similarly situated.

Similarly, the "refusal to show a real COLB" is a phony issue. No one in a position of authority to make such a demand has been refused. The only persons who have been refused are Obama's bitter political enemies, who have no authority to demand this in the first place. No one who is arguably entitled to demand this has done so, and until someone does and is refused, this is a completely red herring.

If the positions were reversed, and the Daily KOS were demanding certified copies of Sarah Palin's birth documents, you would want her to tell them to get stuffed, and you'd be right. It is reasonable to infer (and I agree it hasn't been shown to be true) that the State Department didn't issue him a passport without a birth certificate.

This is a dead end. If one Associate Justice votes in conference to hear arguments in what to me is a transparently absurd politically-inspired case, I will be astonished.
