Iran has now produced roughly enough nuclear material to make, with added purification, a single atom bomb, according to nuclear experts analyzing the latest report from global atomic inspectors.
The figures detailing Iran’s progress were contained in a routine update on Wednesday from the International Atomic Energy Agency, which has been conducting inspections of the country’s main nuclear plant at Natanz. The report concluded that as of early this month, Iran had made 630 kilograms, or about 1,390 pounds, of low-enriched uranium.
Several experts said that was enough for a bomb, but they cautioned that the milestone was mostly symbolic, because Iran would have to take additional steps. Not only would it have to breach its international agreements and kick out the inspectors, but it would also have to further purify the fuel and put it into a warhead design — a technical advance that Western experts are unsure Iran has yet achieved.
“They clearly have enough material for a bomb,” said Richard L. Garwin, a top nuclear physicist who helped invent the hydrogen bomb and has advised Washington for decades. “They know how to do the enrichment. Whether they know how to design a bomb, well, that’s another matter.”

It sure appears that one small nuke in Israel would be more than catastrophic.
When it happens, it will happen so fast it will take our breath away. Israel has rehearsed and rehearsed and they are packed and just waiting for a go. That go is not far off. Probably just waiting for a major media story to break so some attention is distracted.
Core fuel is one thing.
Delivery system is quite another thing.
Design raises the bar higher yet.
But until you light one and get the yield theory says your should, you ain’t got nothing.
Look for the unexplained doubleflash any old time now, at which point, we start leaving the ME.
It’s all downhill from there. Bush gave us his solemn word we’d never see this day.
I’m looking for President Bush to do the decent and right thing before he leaves office, and take out this Iranian threat once and for all.
I’m also thinking Israel will beat him to the punch. Their survival may depend on their taking preemptive action.

No problem, Barack will hold an unconditional meeting with them and they’ll hand it over. It’s easy! I know ‘cause “the One” told me so.
The libs were all over it, pointing out that everyone who thought Iran was still trying to make a nuke was ignorant and stupid.
But while everyone else knew that report was total B.S., no one came out and called them on it. Now we have this news and nothing is ever said about that report anymore.
There is no end to liberal stupidity, and also no end to letting them get away with it and not pointing it out.
People who vote need to know how truly stupid liberals are.
I know. I'm baffled daily by what our president is doing- and NOT doing in these last months.
No one can stop them from building a nuke.
However, they will only be blowing themselves up for a long time.
Delivering one is quite another problem.
We need to focus on containment.
