Remarks against Obama probed
Durham police conducting internal investigation; chief says it wasn't a slur
Stanley B. Chambers Jr., Staff Writer
DURHAM - Derogatory remarks toward President-elect Barack Obama made on a social networking Web site are now the subject of an internal police investigation. A police department employee claims the statements were made on the MySpace pages of two Durham officers.
"There's no exact words that were said," said Police Chief Jose L. Lopez Sr. in a telephone interview Wednesday from San Diego, where he is attending the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference. "It wasn't a racial slur, but we're still investigating it."....................

Doubleplusungood.
Crimethink!
The Thought Police made their presence known during the months before the election. Now they can go full throttle.
So, ThoughtCrime has arrived.
Incredible! No racism stated and from what is posted, there does not appear to be any public computers being used. Assuming no tax payer owned PCs (or macs) were used, this should not be an issue. It looks like if you want a job paid for by tax payers, then you had better tow the Obama line.
There isn't, chief? Then what are you investigating.
NC news.
Sounds like a witch hunt to me.
Yes, it does.
How about website/webspace comments made about Condi Rice?
Clarence Thomas? Sarah Palin?
no racism or sexism to see there...move along
There are sure a lot of people being investigated all of a sudden and Hussein is not even president yet. I don’t remember anyone being investigated for saying something about George W. Bush in the past eight years.
This is a shot across the bow of conservative talk radio. Its not only what you say, its what you think about our dear leader. And to think, the sob is not even president yet.
people must realize that cant speak against the 0ne!
The Thought Police in full effect.
Man, this is getting scary. And so one-sided.
We all know Obama gestapho iis watching FR.
How does my hair look?
That was my favorite quote, too. Maybe they're investigating penumbras and emanations, or what they think the people in question might have been thinking at the time they thought about writing their posts...
This is insane.
I'm trying very hard not to jump to any conclusions.
Speaking against the president elect merits a police investigation? We are in for rough time.
Mr. Obama,
I think you are a Marxist Socialist out to ruin the producers of this nation. You can rot in hell, sir.
There, now come and investigate me.
Well, it’s Durham. It’s an insane place.
“if the allegations are found to be true and officers posted racially charged statements, then an appropriate response by the department would be warranted.”
So, if the Democrat party ran a racially charged campaign, would an appropriate response by the Justice department be warranted?
Just askin’.
Which is why, in spite of the fact that for our family’s sake, we would like to have our pension continue from the auto industry, it may be best if GM filed for bankruptcy.
Does this have anything to do with the Sheriff that dared to use ‘The Ones’s’ full name in public?
note that on his adminstration’s “employment application” zerO’s team asks applicants for every alias or handle they ever used on the internet
Looks like there will be plenty of work searching out objectionable opinions and comments about dear leader ...
will Obummer’s personal pajamahadeen be clad in brownshirts or pajamas?
Your hair looks fine
Now, will you be a job reference for silverleaf if I apply to be on the zerO’s staff?
s-a-r-c

“Now, will you be a job reference for silverleaf”
any association to me will get your application nixed quickly! :`)
“It wasn’t a racial slur, but we’re still investigating it.”.................... “
Makes no sense at all. Note to myself: You may want to rethink your dream of moving to N.C. some day.
bttt

That's "Dear Leader" to us serfs.
And here we thought the thought police were unpossible.
Well, time may prove disastrous for them if my fears of the Obama-rule comes to fruition. It may take more loss of our liberty before conservatives come to genuine, principled conservatives take back the White House and Congress.
Regards . . . Penny
Minor correction—the paper is the Raleigh News & Observer. Durham is next door to Raleigh.
And speaking as a Durham resident...let’s just say that criticism of The Obama is not tolerated here in beautiful Nifongville. Durham County went 76-22 for Obama, the highest of any county in North Carolina. It is owned lock, stock, and barrel by the local reverse-racists of the Democratic Party.

Changing my tagline now.
“It wasnt a racial slur, but were still investigating it.....................
Maybe that’s just most appropriate thing that they can say right now so that they don’t come under some type of investigation.
LOL!
The Hussein has been insulted. Send his sons to deal with blasphemers.
God help us!
This was strange:
“There’s no exact words that were said,” said Police Chief Jose L. Lopez Sr. in a telephone interview Wednesday from San Diego, where he is attending the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference. “It wasn’t a racial slur, but we’re still investigating it.”
and then this:
“Bonfield added that if the allegations are found to be true and officers posted racially charged statements, then an appropriate response by the department would be warranted.”
So which is it? First they say ‘no exact words were said’...then ‘no racist slur said’..then said the allegations were that they made ‘racially charged statements’!!
hmmmmm.....color me confused. Was it a racist THOUGHT? LOL
The First is easiest to eliminate. There would be a terrible price trying to eliminate the Second.
Which brings up a very good point- As many of you know, certain keywords are flagged already by our government, and now that Barack, a black man is in office, you can bet that the government will be scrutinizing certain keywords much more closely and over-reacting, so it would be prudent on our parts to refrain from venting too carelessly and to be careful how we phrase things, as I’m sure FR is being watched pretty closely by hte Nazis, err I mean ‘patriots’ under Barack (His ‘civilian Security detail).
Funny htouygh that it’s only the Republicans and conservatives who have to watch their words while the pukes over on DU, Adrianna Huffington’s site etc can say anythign they want with impunity-
If I had made the remarks, I’d make certain the gestapo thugs didn’t have to bother with an investigation. PIGs! Patriot lawyers better line up to defend the Constitution, because that is what these maggots are attacking.
looks like the 1st....
Have these people, and many like them, been as diligent in combing websites for negative remarks about President Bush for the last eight years? Who was investigating all the negative things said about him?
President Obama will rule America like Amadmanutjob rules Iran.
What remakably stupid tale.
Do I understand this story correctly?
1. Nothing was said;
2. There were no racial slurs;
3. They are still investigating.
They are investigating WHAT? The Durham police are becoming quite expert in investigating non-crimes.
No exact words, no racial slur, but derogatory? How do they define derogatory? Big ears? Liar? Just asking.
Silver, this kind of response on the part of Obamaniacs is rampant! They are so irrationally enraptured that they will not abide anyone speaking about him in less than hushed tones of awe.
This is really not good, people. Really.
