As he prepares to take office, President-elect Barack Obama is relying on a small team of advisers who will lead his transition operation and help choose the members of a new Obama administration. Following is part of a series of profiles of potential members of the administration.
The New Team A series of profiles of potential members of the Obama administration.
Name: Jamie Gorelick
Being considered for: Attorney general
Would bring to the job: A wide-ranging Washington résumé that spans corporate, legal and national security affairs. Ms. Gorelick (pronounced Guh-REH-lick) was the No. 2 official at the Justice Department in the Clinton administration, from 1994 to 1997, and if chosen would be the second woman to be named attorney general, following her former boss, Janet Reno. Ms. Gorelick would also bring corporate experience to an Obama administration at a time of financial crisis.
Is linked to Mr. Obama by: Deep contacts in Democratic circles and a background in civil rights. But Ms. Gorelick backed Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Democratic primaries and contributed early on to her campaign, which could work against her as a contender. She contributed $10,000 to Mr. Obamas presidential political action committee in August, after his nomination was all but assured.
In her own words: You know someone respected you if they called you sir, Ms. Gorelick said, alluding to the glass ceiling at the Pentagon, where she worked as general counsel in the 1990s. Maam is what you call your mom.

Jamie Gorelick? Are they kidding?
Oh my.
This cannot be right! This woman has done more, single-handedly, to harm to this country than anybody. Attorney Genreal???? Sh!t.
Bleh. Like a bad penny.
Jamie Gorelick helped get a lot of people slaughtered on September 11, 2001.
Her name sure sounds familiar.......
Jamie will be working on the third or fourth $ trillion worth of damage she has done to this country, and I think we can be relieved she’ll be getting another shot.
His motto is “Change”, but I keep seeing more of the same names..
Never has an apparatchik caused so much harm in American history as Jamie Gorelick. She was up to her eyebrows in the financial meltdown and was responsible for the wall of separation leading to 9-11. She should be the poster child for opposition to the Obama interregnum.
Why not....there will be no justice in the land under this administration....
The republicans didn’t fight her presence on the 9-11 Commission Circus.
How many MONTHS was it that the democraps held up many Bush appointments especially Ashcroft and Rumsfeld?
The Pubs won’t oppose many...if any...of Ding Dong’s nominations. IMO.
So much for reaching across the aisle
Now, .... THIS is the Hope and CHANGE I expect from DEMOCRATS!!
Lovely. Gore-lick as AG.
How many more Clintonistas will be in government until they die?
This is change? But for Zero himself, so far it’s all Clinton retreads. Nice.
Gorelick helped lay the groudwork for the intelligence failure that allowed 9/11 to happen. Gorelick was also one of the looters who helped destroy Fannie Mae (or was it Freddie Mac, I don’t recall which one she was mixed up in) laying the groundwork for the current financial debacle. “Change” indeed.
The real surprise is how many of these slimeball clintonoids are coming back for a second bite of the apple.
It’s the really sharp and nasty ones that Obama seems to have settled on.
Hillary must be seething.
Not to defocus from this bee-yatch, but...
I wonder if the fix is in with the Clintons, BHO brings on a bunch of their old cronies and in turn they sit back and be quiet for a while. I just have the abiding doubt about the Clintons keeping their fingers out of this pie somehow.
If Chelsea turns up as an Ambassador to someplace, I’ll have my proof ;-)
she sure gets around...
dildo for janet reno,
9.11 commission,
fanny mae or was it freddy mac?
lawyer for duke university against the young men accused of rape....
Makes sense. She knows where all the bodies are buried. She helped bury them...and got paid 25million + from Fannie Mae.
