That oath I took at age 17 on the 8th of August, 1972 in the Abilene AAFES station before I served in the Fulda Gap (three times), before I sat freezing on the DMZ in Korea, before I served in the Sinai, before I served in Desert Storm.....

I am still bound by that oath and more willing now than ever to defend, with my life, my fortune, and my sacred honor, the Constitution of the United States from all enemies, foreign and domestic.

I am not alone.

I’m right beside you. Took the same oath a number of times before retiring. I may move a little slower but my aim is still true.

I took that oath as well, on May 28, 1968, upon receiving my commission in the United States Marine Corps...as far as I’m concerned, I’m still bound by and to that oath.

I took the same oath 45 years ago at the age of 17. I consider myself to still be bound by it.
I am proud to be in the company on so many others who have also sworn this oath.

My son took that oath on 11 September 2008. He is now in recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego. As proud parents, we silently took that oath with him.

He told me, before he left, that he is a little scared but perfectly prepared to give his life to defend this nation and its freedoms. And we wholeheartedly support him.

Semper fi, do or die.

President (I pray, God, no) Obama may get a different kind of “civilian security force” than he imagines.....

We will indeed, especially considering Obama and all of his friends/allies/associates ARE those enemies. Not to mention those foreign donations that probably came from our foreign enemies.

These people hate our Constitution and everything America has stood for and what has made us the greatest nation in all of history.

I hear you bro. I suspect that if a certain Senator is elected POTUS and tries to use the Armed Forces as a means to execute things that violate the constitution (like disarming U.S. citizens, etc.) he may at the least have a mass refusal by members of the military, at worst we may see mass mutiny and a hunta. I think that is why he wants a “civilian defense force” that he can personnally control.

As citizens, you must be prepared to back up serving military if they are placed in a tricky position by a POTUS that doesn’t defend the constitution.

Your son is about to receive extraordinary training. He will become a man almost overnight. He will treasure his sevice for the rest of his life. Thank you for being supporting parents. You will be even more proud of him than you are now.

I hope you plan to attend his graduation. I was stationed at MCRD San Diego when I retuned from Vietnam in 1970.
