Video of Obama, coal bankruptcy
YouTube ^

Posted on 11/03/2008 5:46:56 AM PST by wiseprince

This video needs to go viral. This is an absolute shame, how can the "free press" sit on this during an election? Patently unfair!

Get this to Drudge, Rush, Sean, Levin and anyone else who has any sway at this point. Email it, this needs to be made a big deal in VA, OH, WV, PA and other coal producers.

drudge made it red letter again and has a couple of other links as well. Anyone (all 27mill) will see it today. You know both Rush and Hannity go there.

Did he just say, essentially, “we’re going to bankrupt coal plants ON PURPOSE?”

Anyone who works in the energy industry and votes for this guy is either stupid or willfully ignorant. What a moron.

As is to be expected, the Obama campaign issued this statement in response to the video. The statement is in direct contradiction to what he said on the video:

The campaign sent a statement today saying "the point Obama is making is that we need a transition from coal burning power plants built with old technology to plants built with advanced technologies."

What he said:

"The only thing I've said with respect to coal, I haven't been some coal booster. What I have said is that for us to take coal off the table as a (sic) ideological matter as opposed to saying if technology allows us to use coal in a clean way, we should pursue it."

this needs to go to everybody not just the “coal belt”

coal is produced in 27 states

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2122918/posts

and coal is used to produce 50% of our electricity
according to the US dept of energy

This should be an issue not just to the 26 States that produce coal but also the other 22 that use coal from those states. Only Vermont and Rhode Island do not use coal for Electrical Power Generation.

Make sure your local talk radio host have it also. They anchor the AM shows before RUSH and Hannity! I've done Memphis, TN...

27 states produce coal is your state one of them?

(Flashback) Bill Clinton’s Revenge in Utah (locked up coal deposits)

[snip] The only state in which he came in third, after George Bush and Ross Perot, and which had the lowest pro-Clinton vote in the nation, 25%, was Utah. Today Clinton takes revenge. He announces his designation of the Kaiparowits Plateau coal field as part of a 1.8 million acre “national monument” which will cost Utah an estimated $1.1 billion in public education funds during the next half century, according to state officials.
