Senator Stealth - How to advance radical causes when no one’s looking.
National Review ^ | 11/1/08 | Stanley Kurtz

Posted on 11/01/2008 7:38:36 AM PDT by Brian Mosely

After hearing about Barack Obama’s ties to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, Fr. Michael Pfleger, and the militant activists of ACORN (the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now), it should be clear to everyone that his extremist roots run deep. But the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee has yet another connection with the world of far-Left radicalism. Obama has long been linked — through foundation grants, shared political activism, collaboration on legislation and tactics, and mutual praise and support — with the Chicago-based Gamaliel Foundation, one of the least known yet most influential national umbrella groups for church-based “community organizers.”

The same separatist, anti-American theology of liberation that was so boldly and bitterly proclaimed by Obama’s pastor is shared, if more quietly, by Obama’s Gamaliel colleagues. The operative word here is “quietly.” Gamaliel specializes in ideological stealth, and Obama, a master student of Gamaliel strategy, shows disturbing signs of being a sub rosa radical himself. Obama’s legislative tactics, as well as his persistent professions of non-ideological pragmatism, appear to be inspired by his radical mentors’ most sophisticated tactics. Not only has Obama studied, taught, and apparently absorbed stealth techniques from radical groups like Gamaliel and ACORN, but in his position as a board member of Chicago’s supposedly nonpartisan Woods Fund, he quietly funneled money to his radical allies — at the very moment he most needed their support to boost his political career. It’s high time for these shadowy, perhaps improper, ties to receive a dose of sunlight.

The depth of subversive activity in this country would cross J. Edgar Hoover’s eyes. What in hell is the FBI doing these days?

Wow.

We are in a war. They are organized and have a plan. If we don’t mobilize and start taking action, these communists and redistributionists will take over this country.

Ping.

This morning it dawned on me what's fundamentally weird about Obama:

He is no one that anyone can identify with. He's NOT typical or normal by ANY standard.

He's not a normal white person; he's not a normal black person. He's not a normal Christian; he's not a normal muslim. He's not a typical American; he's not a typical Kenyan. He's not a female...but he's not a normal male. He's not like your employee and he's not like any boss you've had. He's not a typical Harvard law grad, but he's not like a graduate of Howard either. Though he's a Democrat, he's not like most of his fellow party members...he's even MORE radical than they are. Biden looks "normal" by comparison.

There is simply NOTHING that the average American can relate to here. He's like a phantom....a mystery wrapped in an enigma.

Simply put, Barak Obama is the most dangerous person to America, in America, today.

B - I’m beginning to wonder if he isn’t the most dangerous person to and in the world right now.

He is a marxist enemy, posing as everything that he is not.

But all of these folks are catching on to exactly what you have said...and I believe that they are going to put him down.

“Since community organizers often use confrontation, intimidation, and “civil disobedience” in the service of their political goals, even liberal foundations sometimes find it difficult to fund them without risking public criticism. As the report puts it: “Some funders . . . are averse to confrontational tactics, and are loathe [sic] to support organizing for that reason. They essentially equate organizing with the embarrassment of their business and government associates.” The Woods Fund is both highly respected and one of the few foundations to consistently support community organizing, so its money acts as a kind of Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval, providing political cover for other foundations interested in funding the hard Left.”

So glad to see this observation included in this article. This is exactly what they do. The hard left often finds gullible and/or very large foundations to add so called legitimacy to their ‘causes’..then they populate the spin off organizations with hard core leftist ideologues and marxists. It is especially useful when they find ignorant, but well intentioned, centrists from both parties to further add the ‘legits’ to their umbrella foundations. Then they simply devise ‘stealth programs’ within the organization...hidden from the view of most of the donor foundations.

Great article. Thanks for posting it.

“We are in a war.”

Republicans and Conservatives have refused to acknowledge the depth of the war, or the fact that the war - actual war - has been going on for over 40 years.

Our nation’s principles and our very form of government has been under attack and too many saw the whole thing as simply “politics”.

I was just about to post this- glad I searched first:)

Kurtz has done so much invaluable work- and we are indebted to him. I’ve e-mailed him several times to thank him or to pass on a tidbit from here and there.

The entire Obama scheme is possible because of the complexity of the issues and connections in his background. For Kurtz to undertake this investigation, and for the public to read and comprehend it- requires TIME. The murkiness that Obama inhabits makes it unlikely for the ordinary American to wade through the documentation and lengthy pieces written about him that illustrate his radical beliefs and plans.

Obama knows this- and he depends on it.

If it doesn’t fit into a sound bite or a DRUDGE headline- it’s not going to dent the American conciousness.

What in hell is the FBI doing these days?

Probably lurking FR, marking heresies for later attention. >sarc< Actually, every single thing explained in this essay is legal. BO's interests must be sub rosa for political, not criminal reasons. The initial purpose of the ACLU was to litigate for the decriminalisation of the American communist party, on First amendment grounds. That accomplished, it's Katy bar the door.

This kind of willful sedition is like a metastatic cancer. By the time even mild symptoms appear, it's already taken over every organ.

After reading this article and the many other articles by Stanley Kurtz, it’s hard not to believe that Obama has been directly responsible for the smears, vote fraud and campaign donation fraud via his website. At first, you could say it’s just a few bad employees, on the campaign, but after reading this stuff, I think Obama knows what he’s doing and doesn’t care. His philosophy is by any means necessary.

Wake up folks.

WOW- you came as close to describing him as I’ve read anywhere. To simply call him an empty suit with a teflon coat doesn’t do justice. He’s so much more than that, and so much less.

There is simply NOTHING that the average American can relate to here. He's like a phantom....a mystery wrapped in an enigma.

On the other hand, and here's where the danger lies, he's a blank slate, an empty vessel to be filled with the aspirations, grievances, sometimes the very identities of a huge number of people who seem incapable of developing any principles of their own. You make a wish, he says 'Yes we can!'. He then becomes you. And you become a part of something greater than yourself. Eric Hoffer explains it simply and beautifully in his True Believer.
