Iran's growing industrial and medical capabilities could enable the country to produce chemical or biological weapons if it chose to do so, security expert Anthony Cordesman said in two draft reports released this month (see GSN, Feb. 26).
"Iran's technology base is advanced enough ... so that Iran retains some capability to make chemical weapons, and it may have inactive or mothballed facilities. While there have been no public reports of active production, this is possible and such efforts can occur at low levels and be easy to conceal," Cordesman, an analyst for the Center for Strategic and International Studies, wrote in a draft report on Iran's potential chemical-weapon capabilities.

NOt to worry...Call Obama, he’ll disarm them mullahs....
Time to saddle up them diplomats.
This is so damn serious and most Americans are oblivious to the danger.
Saddam Hussein paid $2million for a suitcase of weaponized smallpox stolen by a Russian defector who had worked on bioweapons projects. She was paid the money and then disappeared to South America.
This was independently verified by two defectors who did not know one another: one Russian and one Iraqi. No one knows where the weaponized smallpox is now - is it in Syria? Or is it in Iran?
The above information became known in the 1990s and is the reason the U.S. has stockpiled smallpox vaccinae.
For anyone wanting specific details go read the book, “Demon in the Freezer”, by Richard Preston.
I've done a fair amount of research on bio-warfare and our health care systems' ability to handle attacks...we got some serious up-grading to do, to put it mildly.
Whatever weapons the Iranian dictatorship comes up with, thank the Kremlin. The same is applicable for Syria and Libya.

So does our military.
Have you ever seen the pathetic attempt to keep our soldiers safe in case of gas or biological attack?
Sorely lacking.
