Hello Freepers! A rally for Sarah Palin was held in Kissimmee, Fl. today and it seems that all involved had a grand time. My guess is there was about 10,000 people there, a big crowd but the place was not packed. It was an ethically diverse group in a very family friendly atmosphere with tons of kids about. While standing in line next to a guy herding 5 teenage girls I asked the girls why they had come and they all screamed WE LOVE SARAH PALIN! Much to my relief there were no protesters anywhere and the Osceola County Sheriffs Dept did a stellar job at dealing with the people & traffic. I did not see even the slightest problem occur. I arrived 20 min. before they opened the doors and there were already 2-3 thousand people patiently waiting in line, enjoying a perfect day. It was sunny but cool, about 75 degrees with a light breeze. You could not have asked for a better day. It was supposed to start at 2:00 but the entire event ran behind schedule finally starting around 2:45. There were a few local speakers running for about 20 minutes. After that there was about an hour wait for any other speakers. I guess Palin & crew were running late. I was getting a bit tired and went over to lean on a metal fence they had set up between the crowd & the media. I stood there for a few minutes when a large group of people was running in my direction very excitedly. Not knowing why I turned around and was standing face to face with Sean Hannity! He said hello as I handed him my Country First placard that they handed out at the event, and he signed it. No further interaction was possible as he was totally crushed with fans. He went around the crowd signing things and posing for pictures with some of the people there. Then the event started up again with Mel Martinez & Charlie Crist speaking for a short time, Followed by Elisabeth Hasselbeck who introduced Governor Palin & her husband. I never did see any of her kids. Palin gave a rousing speech covering all the topics well but really did not say much of anything new. She did bring up the wardrobe issue commenting on how biased the media was against us. And this folks was my favorite part by far in the whole event. The very instant she stopped speaking I and about 50 other people turned to the media booth and started chanting & pointing saying YOU, YOU, YOU! All the media vermin clearly got very scared as their faces all went ghost white and they all scuttled away, leaving only the cameramen there on the press platform. They were not seen again. I personally will treasure that moment for the rest of my life. Sarah Palin finished her speech to loud approving applause from an adoring crowd and once again I could see in her all the elements of a Ronald Regan, a strong, honest person just like me. One who loves America and wants to see her great. As I was driving home I pulled onto the Florida Turnpike and noticed that it had been renamed the Ronald Regan Turnpike, and it just all seemed so right.
Sorry about that!
An ethically diverse group, eh?
Oh, I see. You mean there were DemocRATS in attendance.
Sounds more like an Obama rally!
Congratulations. That’s one advantage to being a swing state. We’ll never see her here in Connecticut. Thank goodness for streaming video.
Thanks for the report, Fuzz. Oh yeah, the cat. Right.
AWESOME

KISS = Florida's Armpit.
Gave the press what-for, That is great. A little non-violent hostility is exactly what they need.
AWESOME report! My husband is from Kissimmee so this is great to hear the locals represented! Glad you had a great time - and now GOTV this week. I’ve been calling over 300 people per day, but even if you only have 30 minutes to give, please stop into your local McCain/Palin Victory office. We’re having a great time in OH!
Could you tell us more about the “ethnic diversity?”
I was surprised at how many African-Americans I saw at the rallies out here.
Good JOB!
I bet you a bottle of Ron Barrilito Three Stars that the I-4 corridor is going for McCain-Palin. Series.
This is just GREAT!
That’s funny. I remember stories of motels in Kissimmee being infested with bedbugs, and I took my son to a chess tournament there in 2005 and came away with the worst, 2-week case of flu I have ever had. All the vermin and contagion of the world accumulate there, I think, magnetically attracted by Disney.
Awesome!
I only wish there was a rousing chorus of “GO HOME MEL!!”
Martinez is such a Rino troll, I can’t wait till he is up for de-election
I seriously doubt that Barry O will win Florida. The state polls I have seen show black turnout considerably higher than in 2000 (when it was the highest in Florida history). He should win the I-4 corridor (though will win Osceola County narrowly). So, I won't take a bet that I will obviously lose.
None of this changes the fact that Kissimmee is a thug-filled armpit, as is most of Osceola and Orange Counties (Winter Park being a major exception in the latter). Who the hell would want to live in a swamp 40 miles from the nearest beach where the largest employer is a giant rat?
The Flotsam and Jetsam of America are attracted to Florida like flies to (expletive). Those that even (expletive) rejects wind up in Kissimmee.
Sure thing. There were not a lot of AA’s there I saw about 25 or so.
However there was a HUGE quantity of Hispanics of all flavors as well as a goodly amount of Orientals.
But honestly there were more whites than any other single group.
Just to let you folks know I did drive 23 miles from another county to get there.
Personally I do not think much of Kissimmee either but that was where the Gov. was!
I know. I felt bad for Sarah that she had to be there, but it is fairly close to the airport.
Tomorrow it will be reported by the MSM as "KILL YOU, KILL YOU, KILL YOU" as they fall in line to 'make stuff up.'
“Who the hell would want to live in a swamp 40 miles from the nearest beach where the largest employer is a giant rat?”
LOL. Not me! That’s why I live on the island. Regardless if you take the bet or not, if we win the I-4 and Florida, as we did in 2004, I’ll down a bottle of Ron Barrilito in your honor!
As to the well behaved event versus the apparent clashes in Ashville, NC this evening ... hold a rally in a Rodeo pavilion with monster trucks parked out front from yesterday's entertainment, add a statue of two anatomically correct bulls locked in combat, and only the most foolish moonbats would brave the expected reception should they step out of line.
That’s Heidi Montag?
Do I have to start watching her show, whatever it is?
