Hello Freepers! A rally for Sarah Palin was held in Kissimmee, Fl. today and it seems that all involved had a grand time. My guess is there was about 10,000 people there, a big crowd but the place was not packed. It was an ethically diverse group in a very family friendly atmosphere with tons of kids about. While standing in line next to a guy herding 5 teenage girls I asked the girls why they had come and they all screamed “WE LOVE SARAH PALIN!” Much to my relief there were no protesters anywhere and the Osceola County Sheriff’s...

I have a couple of questions that I need help with before I take off for Kissimmee, Florida, tomorrow morning to see Sarah Palin, the next Vice President of the United States. 1. I have a very nice Canon digital SLR camera I'd like to take so that I can get some really good pictures. Will I be allowed to take this in to the rally site? 2. The email I received from the McCain campaign says "For security reasons, bags and signs are not allowed inside the venue". However, on TV at all the rallies, there are many people...

KISSIMMEE - Gateway High School junior Elizabeth Johnson got an unexpected fashion lesson this week: two days of detention for wearing a pair of sweats with the Playboy name and logo on them. Elizabeth says she was approached by a dean who insisted she change the offending pants, and she eventually did. But the 17-year-old says the school, which required her to stay after school for one hour on two school days, overreacted. "The bunny is just a logo," she said. "There's nothing objectionable about that."

BAGHDAD, Iraq, July 17, 2005 – Thanks to the initiative of a hometown hero, Kissimmee, Fla., is close to formalizing a "Sister City" agreement with Zafaraniya, Iraq. Despite the 7,000-mile distance and significant cultural differences, citizens of both communities are working to establish a powerful bond to improve both cities, said Capt. Matthew Wheeler, commander of Headquarters Battery, 1st Battalion, 9th Field Artillery, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division and a decorated veteran of two tours in Iraq. Wheeler set the wheels in motion with a hometown connection to Kissimmee and an innovative idea of bridging the cultural gap...

John Kerry's criticisms of the Bush administration for the disappearance of hundreds of tons of explosives in Iraq. Cheney said the facts surrounding the missing explosives are unclear, that Kerry "doesn't know" the answers and that Kerry adviser Richard Holbrooke "admitted as much." The disclosure that nearly 400 tons of explosives have disappeared from a former Iraqi military installation has become a major issue in the...

Florida's Jihad ConferenceBy Joe KaufmanFrontPageMagazine.com | December 17, 2003 During the holiday season this year, an Islam for Humanity conference will be held near Disney World on the campus of the Universal Heritage Foundation, a 31-acre Islamic propagation center located in Kissimmee, Florida. The three day conference will commence on December 19, 2003, which “coincidentally” marks the beginning of Hanukkah. The timing is not to be confused with the objective -- highlighting peace and brotherhood will not be the conference's priorities in marking the holiday season. Originally listed as “Specially Invited Guests” were ex-Presidential candidate and Green Party leader, Ralph Nader, and Shaikh Abdur-Rahman Al-Sudais, the chief...
