The presidential race in New Hampshire has grown closer, with Barack Obama now leading John McCain 50% to 46%, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state.
At the beginning of the month, the Democrat held a ten point lead over his opponent, which shifted New Hampshire from “toss-up” to “leans Democratic” in the Rasmussen Balance of Power Calculator. In the eight polls prior to October, Obama has held the lead in five, McCain in three.
Voters in New Hampshire are divided on who they trust more on the top issue of the economy, with Obama holding the edge, 46% to 45%. While 43% agree with Obama’s idea that spreading the wealth around would be good for everybody, 44% disagree.
Voters trust McCain more on national security and the War on Terror by a 53% to 43% margin.
Might be a bit tight, if they are polling the right demographics. (big if there considering their other polls are so skewed)
I maintain that any state where Zero is polling below 50, he will lose. There is precedent for this in the primaries against Hillary.
If the press handled this like Gore making a comeback in the polls the headline would read “McCain has the momentum to overtake Obama in NH”. Then the story would go on to say it’s not what the poll #s show but the direction the poll is moving that matters as that’s the direction the electorate is moving going into the election. It’s better to be down witht he momentum in your direction then to be winning in the polls.
Rasmussen’s state polling is tightening across the board, yet his national tracking poll is unmoved. Odd.
NH will be the Hillary Primary all over again. Polls show significant lead then he gets stuffed on the day.
“While 43% agree with Obamas idea that spreading the wealth around would be good for everybody, 44% disagree.”
Right here you know who they polled and McCain is still close
its called banking on one but hedging your bets, they will all do this. Every last one of them will have Bambi slightly in the lead in battleground states then election day Bambi will be whalloped.
if McCain can hold NV and WIN NH...we dont need CO
we win..narrowly
that is provided he holds MO NC VA OH FL
don’t forget the clinton poll where she was behind by more and still won big
get this and PA, , manage to keep VA,NC
Fl I htink he will win
then it will send out a great message to the midwest and west
“While 43% agree with Obamas idea that spreading the wealth around would be good for everybody, 44% disagree”.
...WTH!? How ANYBODY could agree with redistribution is beyond me. Much less 43%!!!!???? Was this only ex-cons and welfare recipients being asked?
You know they are getting that sick feeling in their stomachs now. They worship the polls, but they will not win the final poll that matters.
Is Real Clear Politics behind the curve or something? Not uploaded on their site yet.
He's polling nationally, not just close states. Hence, those idiots in Kalifornia, Massachusetts, and Vermont are skewing his national numbers Leftward.
This election is going to be spun as a miracle comeback for McCain in the end.
But the truth is that Obama’s lead all along has been a bunch of fiction made up by urinalists, and pollsters.
McCain’s really been ahead the whole way, and I would be willing to bet that his campaign has pretty much known it.
Yup, you betcha.
Axlerod told Fox this afternoon that it's over an they expect to clear 400 Electoral votes. :)
Remember, the left has been in charge of the educational system since Nixon.
McCain will take NH!!!
