Voters shift toward House democrats [2006 Congressional Polling October skewed + 15 Dem]

WASHINGTON — A Capitol Hill sex scandal has reinforced public doubts about Republican leadership and pushed Democrats to a huge lead in the race for control of Congress four weeks before Election Day, the latest USA TODAY/Gallup Poll shows. Democrats had a 23-point lead over Republicans in every group of people questioned — likely voters, registered voters and adults — on which party's House candidate would get their vote. That's double the lead Republicans had a month before they seized control of Congress in 1994 and the Democrats' largest advantage among registered voters since 1978.

Final vote was 52 Dem and 44 Republican

This means that polls were skewed by 15 points for Dems. Republicans may have closed effectively but that also points to positive future for the Palin ticket.

Don’t know about other seats, but I’m hearing that Steve Chabot is pretty good, and that Jean Schmidt, who always seems to have a tough race, is still clinging to a lead.

I still wonder what that deal was with her being hit by a car.

It makes me very uneasy.

Yes, suspicious. But, on the good side, it took a fairly unsympathetic woman and made her a sympathetic figure!

What’s amazing is that the public isn’t apparently aware the DEMOCRATS are in control of Congress. A Frist-Hastert Congress didn’t have a 9% approval rating like Reid-Pelosi does. In any event, Boehner, Blunt and McConnell need to go after the elections. We need bombastic and unafraid Conservatives in GOP leadership positions that will hammer away at Reid-Pelosi/Pelosi-Reid at every press conference, public appearance, tv show, commercial, etc., until Mr. & Mrs. Joe Schmoe know “Pelosi-Reid” in their sleep and take it out on the REAL leaders, the Democrats.

I just heard Gingrich and O’Reilly say the American people aren’t stupid. Well, yeah they are. Only 15% know who Pelosi is. We need to talk over the media and educate the public.

Of course the same idiots just hate “negative” attacks.

No, they don’t hate negative attacks, since that is all they use against us. All we do is tell the truth on them, and they call it negative/hate/racist, et al.

They hate the truth then. They are “turned off” by McCain’s “attacks” on Berry. Unless that is a lie.

Something simular to what CutePuppy proposed on a thread should be shown to voters over and voter again again until they get it. I'm amazed the RATs can GAIN seats give the single-digit "approval" of their current leadership. Even their own party thinks they suck!

============================================

The 110th Democrat Congress has approval rating which is only a quarter or a third that of President Bush (against whose "third term" Obama and Dems are running). The easiest way to defeat them is by tying a Democratic opponent to Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid ("Nine Percent Approval Congress" ) in traditionally conservative congressional districts and states, no matter his/her 'voting record' which could be phonied up with supposedly conservative throwaway votes.

So easy even Republicans could do it. This should be the campaign agenda of GOP House and Senate candidates and grass roots this election season, particularly in "red" states and conservative congressional districts:

2 years ago people voted for change in Congress
Are you better off than you were 2 years ago?
9% Approval, Worst Congress Ever!

Electing a 'conservative' Democrat to Congress
ensures continued Democrats' majority in Congress and
the failed agendas and failed leadership of
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi   and   Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Regardless of what happens in two weeks, we do need fresh blood. I thought our best chances in 2008 was to run against the leadership of Pelosi / Reid for managing the worst Congress ever. However the GOP leadership told me to forget about it and just wait for a recession to happen under the Dems. With the prospect of a scenerio happening, the same “brillant” leadership isn’t interested in doing anything. Its as if the GOP leadership lose all energy after 2004.

Bombastic and fearlessness are needed, but its easy to act that way when the media shills for you. Its quite a different story when the media tears you down when you question the holy saints of liberalism. This election is not aobut McCain vs Obama. Its about the liberal media vs the alternative media. The liberal media wants to show talk radio that they have more influence and power than Rush and Hannity.

Given what happened to Curt Weldon, Sarah Palin, and Michelle of MN-06, future conservative leaders may be intimidated to act boldly.

What’s amazing is that the public isn’t apparently aware the DEMOCRATS are in control of Congress.

I thought our best chances in 2008 was to run against the leadership of Pelosi / Reid for managing the worst Congress ever. However the GOP leadership told me to forget about it and just wait for a recession to happen under the Dems.

And the fault is of Republican leadership (or is that an oxymoron?) in Congress and of John McCain who kept (keeps?) running against Bush (who has 3-4 times approval of Congress) with commercials like "Are you better off than 4 (four!) years ago?" Now, how "mavericky" does one have to be before he gets this thrown right back in his face, as well as undermine the Congress-critters of his own party (not that he ever cared about the latter)?

BillyBoy, thanks for "spreading" the concept, I hope more FReepers copy and paste the "banner" and/or bring it to attention of local GOP candidates' office. It's such a no-brainer! Even if Republican leadership doesn't mind for country and conservatism to go down the drain in another attempt to "win by losing" (2006 didn't register with them yet?) and losing even more of their own power which will be further eroded by unopposed judicial appointments and even more empowered liberal media, the candidates in generally conservative states and districts could easily do this by themselves. All they need is this type of banner, with 3 faces - Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid on the sides, and picture of smiling "conservative" Democrat in the middle.

There is absolutely no reason (other than utter incompetence) for Republicans not to have a solid majority in the House, and almost super-majority in the Senate (about 30 Republican Pres states)...

The dumbing down of America is complete. Sadly it happened right under our noses. While were have been busy producing the leeches have sucked us dry.
