John McCain earned the endorsement of Gulf War commander Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf Wednesday.
Schwarzkopf, who with McCain in 2004 was openly critical of then-Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld over his handling of the Iraq war, said in a statement the Arizona senator "has served our country with honor in war and in peace."

I had the good fortune to meet General Schwarzkopf in Oregon several years ago and let me tell you - this man is the very definition of an Alpha Male. Although retired and wearing civvies, he commanded a room full of very wealthy and successful men with consummate ease.
The McCain campaign needs to do everything in it's power to convince Schwarzkopf to speak out again in support of McCain in order to counter Colon's latest emission.
A true leader and patriot, not merely an affirmative action promoted Perfumed Prince of the Pentagon.
Thanks for this.
Stormin’Norman a great American.
Exactly right. The brains behind the victory. Powell was the PR tool.
Didn’t stormin Norman want to go all the way to Baghdad during Bush I?
Stormin’ Norman is more of a non political figure then C. Powell is, he did his job then retired, so his endorsement carries more weight for me at least.
He is not a member of the DC Elite/Inside the Beltway clan.
without Stormin Norman , Powell’s name will not be known.
LOL, good one!
Schwwarzkopf deserves the honors. Powell has betrayed this country and if Obama does manage to fraud his way in Powell will have America’s blood on his hands.
No, although there were no Iraqi troops of any consequence between the coalition troops and Baghdad, he chose not to take Baghdad. As the General stated in his book, "It Doesn't Take a Hero", if he even appeared to be starting to Baghdad the Arab allies of the coalition would have backed out. It was way too politically sensitive. The only reason the Arab allies were part of the coalition was to get Iraq out of Kuwait. Anything else and they would have left.

So he endorsed McCain back in January. Who remembers it? This fact has never been taken advantage of by the McCain campaign, has it!
This week, Stormin' Norman should be plastered to McCain's side at every speech, every rally so that the two of them are seen in the same camera shot.
You can bet Obama will be using Colon Powell's name every opportunity he gets. But I doubt Colon will hit the stump with Obama. He may be ABOVE that.
But, several years ago, I saw Schwarzkopf in person at a big rally in Weeki Wachee Springs in Florida where he appeared on the platform with Dick Cheney in support of candidate Jeb Bush who was running for Florida governor at the time. So, he's not above stumping, it appears. We Floridians love General Norman.
'TENSHUN, John McCain......yank Schwarzkopf off the golf course and glue him to your side as the perfect antidote to Colon Powell's treachery this morning!

Not all of us young folks have the welfare mentality and will fight to defend our treasured Constitution...
oh yeh I remember now (I read the book too).
Thanx for reminding me.
"Spiro Agnew, is that you???"
Related to this, I assume that Tommy Franks supports McCain. Has he announced his support?
Old Genearl Swhwarzkopf was upset with SecDef Rumsfeld because he looking to protect "big green"....and Rummy was making it more accountable and more agile by the day.
With that said, it is true, that the MSM hype Powell's endorsement but say nothing about Stormin Norman's...
Great guy, and his wife is wonderful, too. My little brother used to play soccer with his son when they were kids.
