Like editors the world over used to admonish reporters at deadline: “Your lead is buried down copy”, the lead in African Press International’s (API’s) “Mrs. Obama decides enough is enough” comes well down copy:
“My husband and I know that there is no law that will stop him from becoming the president, just because some American white racists are bringing up the issue of my husband’s adoption by his step father.” (Emphasis added).
In other words, according to the overzealous, you’re-all-racists wife of candidate for presidency Barack Hussein Obama, the fix is already in.
The candidate’s wife treated the Norway-based API as if it was already under the command of a Barack and Michelle-run White House.
With an arrogance that can only be described as stunning, Michelle Obama said API would earn an invite to hubby’s upcoming inauguration ceremony when he will be installed as the next President of the United States of America next year, if only they wrote a “good” story.
In a good old fashioned hissy fit, Michelle Obama had picked up the phone to accuse API of colluding with American internet bloggers in an effort to bring down her husband, saying she had decided to call API because of what she termed, API’s help to spread rumours created by American bloggers and other racist media outlets in their efforts to damage a black man’s name. She made plain her hopes that the African Media was mature enough to be in the front to give unwavering support to her husband, a man Africans should identify themselves with.

To believe this you would have to believe that an unknown outfit called “African Press” would be able to get to Michelle Obama for an interview. Of course Obama says this is a hoax and it would sound like a hoax if it wasn’t Michelle Obama. The person the Obama campaign has made sure she stays off the campaign trail. If Michelle did say this, they have just lost the election.
Now, we can all go back to the Father Michael Pfleger rant — you know, the one where he talks about Hilary being entitled because she is white...etc...change all the names around...it could work...

If they had recorded this conversation, I would think they would have already released it. Since they haven’t, I believe this will go nowhere...unfortunately.

Has anyone called the number that is at the bottom of their story? They said if you want to confirm the story as true, they can if you call them though I dont know why it would be difficult to post the audio of the alleged call. This would be too easy if true. And nothing is this easy.

If Obama gets elected it will divide the country so much, it will make what the Clintons did look like amaturs.
Maybe the Obamas have provided funding to API. I’ll look into how API is supported.

Yeah, I know. I went to the site as well like everyone else. It’s entirely possible it’s true, just like it’s possible she’s a space alien. Unless they’ve got some proof, a recording, phone records proving they spoke with her, etc., I’ll remain skeptical of this story.
Care to elaborate on why it’s a hoax?
Byron doesn’t need evidence- he’s not making a claim. He’s reporting what he was told by an Obama spokesman.
So- we now have offical denial by Obama.
That’s part of the process. Ball is now in API’s court.
They are not claiming to have “gotten to her”, they are claiming she called THEM. It’s possible, given that the Obama campaign has done some PR work in Africa to deal with Obama’s relatives there.
So we’re supposed to take Tommy Vietor’s word for it?

There was a recent article on the subject of 'smears' against Obama that mentioned Free Republic . com. Evidence they read what we say here with great interest.
Maybe the Obamas provide funding to news sources in Kenya/Africa. It's worth checking into.

Confusion reigns over the whereabouts of Rwandan fugitive Felicien Kabuga after an alleged interview was posted on the internet claiming he was in Norway.
And Kenya may face sanctions this week when the manhunt for the fugitive is set for discussion by the UN Security Council on Wednesday.
A blogger who identified himself as Kipter Korir, the chief editor of African Press International, an online newsletter, claims he interviewed Kabuga early last month in an Oslo hotel.
But the Arusha-based International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) and a host of diplomats were treating the Kabuga interview as a "hoax".
The blogger maintained in a telephone interview with the Sunday Nation that he had met Kabuga, who is charged with supplying machetes to militia in the 1994 Rwandan genocide in which at least 800,000 were killed, in an Oslo hotel through a Sudanese businessman.
Korir, the editor of African Press International that posted the May 12, 2008 interview with Kabuga on its website, says he did not know he was going to meet the fugitive who has been on the run for the last 14 years until he entered his hotel room.
"I met him after I was invited to an Oslo hotel room by one of my Sudanese friends who was visiting Norway," he said.
But the ICTR, the Rwandan government, the Rwandan media, as well as the international community have dismissed the interview as a smokescreen.
The interview was allegedly carried out just four days after the High Court in Kenya froze one of Kabuga's accounts in Nairobi where rent for a property in Kilimani area was deposited through a company whose address remains unknown. The interview also seems to have been timed for release ahead of this week's UN Security Council meeting. Early last month, the United States revived efforts to apprehend Rwanda genocide fugitives through their Reward for Justice Programme.
