Survey USA: Obama Pulls Away in Virginia (O 53, M 43)
Political Wire ^ | 10-6-08 | Survey USA

Posted on 10/06/2008 10:01:37 AM PDT by Alter Kaker

A new SurveyUSA poll in Virginia shows Sen. Barack Obama leading Sen. John McCain by ten points, 53% to 43%.

Since a similar poll conducted just after the Republican convention, McCain has gone from up by 2 to down by 10.

Key finding: McCain no longer leads in any region of the state.

This is baaaad. If McCain loses VA and FL, it will be a bad night, and a short night.

Well, the fact is that there are more registered Ds right now than Rs. Moreso than 2004. I’m not sure it’s 10 pts, but it is significant. I think this poll is probably an outlier, but I think Obama has a lead, and that is ridiculous in a culturally conservative deep red state that has gone Republican every election since 1964.

Where’s McCain on ACORN? Has he tried to make Obama defend ACORN once this entire campaign? What about Employee Free Choice Act? Why aren’t the Ds required to defend these issues?

Let me say this is only a possibility. I don't want to start "disbelieving the polls," but I do see a lot of funny stuff with the internals.

One camp or the other will be very surprised on election day.

Over the exact same period that polls are showing Obama double digits in VA, Mason Dixon says McCain is up 3.

In MN, one poll has Obama up 14 points, another has McCain up by 1.

Something weird is going on for sure when the Democracy Corps poll by James Carville has McCain doing 3 to 4 points better than the national avg.

the RATS and their liberal goons in the MSM do the same thing EVERY election in october. they show the RAT nominee opening big leads. will you guys PLEASE stop posting these crapaganda articles about polls ? these articles are intended to weaken our morale and depress turnout. surely we are smarter than to pay any attention to garbage like this.

What are you talking about? Look at the polls from 2004. Hardly any showed Kerry ahead.

And in 2000, Gore was running behind in the polls in October, more than Kerry would be. Check it out. Note from the graph that the polls had Gore running a couple of points behind Bush right up to the election. In fact, he won the popular vote.

Where are you coming from with this idea?

I apologize for my post. It was uncalled for and I did confuse you with another poster after doing some search work. Too bad I did not do that prior to my stupid post. I sincerely apologize.
Sincerely,
Bob

Plug in those numbers or even plug in an even amount of D’s and R’s on election day and it’s a R win. Polls are the new MSM, we don’t have people to mock, just numbers.

Looks like the polls are starting to shift today. Not that I trust any of them.

We've just got to keep campaigning as if we're ten points down all the way through.

And please, please McCain, keep going the way you did yesterday. Keep those gloves OFF. That was inspiring.
