There's a price to pay for conservative politicians like Sarah Palin who don't swath themselves in pantsuits, wear stylish open-toe shoes and refuse to cut their hair into mannish crops. Apparently part of that price is that, on the very day we should be focusing on Sarah Palin's forthcoming vice presidential debate performance, we learn that porn-peddler Larry Flynt has shot an X-rated adult film starring a Sarah Palin lookalike.
This isn't even the most offensive thing I've heard. Yesterday I read about a Chicago tavern that's hanging up nude Palin paintings. And no, painter Bruce Elliot isn't a fan of her political leanings, he just likes Palin's hot bod. If that's not disturbing enough, Elliot's daughter posed naked as his Palin look-alike muse.
Flynt, Elliot and all the rest of their disgusting male friends hiding in their basements who eat up this filth are sick and sad, but I'm not even going to pretend to act surprised this is happening. It happens to lots of conservative women I know, like Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter and the rest. It happened to me in college when a graduate student photoshopped pornography of me and put it on the internet because of the conservative work I was doing on campus. We know it's par for the course. I would hope that all women would be outraged by this, but people seem to care less when this kind of dirt is directed towards conservative women. I bet this causes less uproar than when the Washington Post's Style section discussed Hillary Clinton's cleavage.
Simply put, conservative women who don't hide their femininity are forced to pay a price. Luckily, women like Palin are willing to pay it with a smile to make it easier for all the young women who will follow in her footsteps later.
If the lookalike is convincing enough it may help “raise” McCain in the polls.

I saw a photo of the alleged “painting.” It was a child’s watercolor unworthy of a Mall caricaturist.
I was waiting for this. Not for that reason...get your minds out of the gutter...Sarah lacks true Feminist street cred because she’s not a sexless uggo like Kathleen Sebelius. She’s just gonna have to take the arrows.

It makes me sick. I was talking about Sarah today to a group of friends (mixed politically) and somebody made a sexual comment. I will not repeat it. but it was pretty much telling me I just like her because she is attractive. I felt insulted. More so I felt like they were diminishing Sarah to nothing more than a sex symbol.
Nobody says these things to women who like Obama.
Therefore, there is a degree of sexism. It is disturbing.
Well, in his defense, Flynt also tried shooting a porn flick with a Hillary lookalike,
but the cow plops ruined his rug before the first frame was shot.
Back when Palin was first introduced to the public, some European trashy paper already produced computer-enhanced nude pictures of her. I contemplated posting them on FR to show the many enemies she already had among liberal Euroweenies who did not even know her. In hindsight, I am glad I never posted the pics.

McCain seems reluctant to fling any spears, and the rest of the Republicans seem hellbent on defending themselves from things they didn’t even do,

Liberal women who vote with their uterus instead of their brains will watch this crucifixion with glee and say that it is deserved. Moderate and conservative women who vote with their brains will take note, right to the polls.
Interesting, Kristinn. I’m surprised that Glamour published this - they, and the other women’s magazines are usually left-leaning. (And while Redbook is marriage-oriented, it’s still quite left when it comes to abortion.)
