A national group of homosexual Democrats condemned Sarah Palin on Wednesday for arguing that homosexuality is a "choice" and claimed Senator John McCain chose a "poor" running mate.
"For Governor Palin to suggest that individuals randomly choose their sexual orientation based on nothing but a whim is wrong and it repeats the talking points of the anti-gay special interests which continue to control the McCain/Palin campaign and the Republican Party, " said John Hoadley, executive Director of National Stonewall Democrats on a statement.
Palin and CBS' News anchor Katie Couric talked about homosexuality at the last of a series of interviews aired Tuesday. Palin said she wasn't going to judge Americans and the "decisions" that they made in their "adult personal relationships."

If there’s “nothing wrong” with being gay then why is it a negative to call it a choice? To argue that “I can’t help it I was born this way” implies an acceptance of a negative connotation to being gay.

It is clear from what Gov. Palin said in the interview that she has no problem whatsoever with a person's choice to be homosexual.
She even cites that one of her best friends is gay. If Sarah thought that it was wrong to be gay, she never would have a best friend that was a homosexual.
"I have one of my absolute best friends for the last 30 years who happens to be gay and I love her dearly," Palin said. "And she is not my gay friend, she is one of my best friends who happens to have made a choice that isn't a choice that I have made."
Only a liberal can believe that gender is a social construct, but sexual orientation is a biological imperative.

Homosexuality is not a casual choice (like choosing your lunch off a restaurant menu), but it does lie within the realm of the will. Sometimes the slide into homosexuality is not a deliberative thing (Romans 1 depicts God as giving sinful people over to it as part of the self-destroying corruption), but it is something that with prayer and will can be reversed and defeated. If they would stop cultivating their sodomy the way a garden cultivates a garden they would realize it. I think they do know it deep down, which is why they are so upset.
