DETROIT - Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama yesterday said he was outraged at being asked by the Bush Administration to bail out Wall Street for the financial crisis, but said it was a necessary measure that should be passed soon.
Saying he supports the $700 billion bailout that was agreed to early yesterday, Mr. Obama nonetheless said the financial ruin threatening Wall Street was "the final verdict" on an era of greed that he laid at the feet of the current administration in the White House.
And he attacked his Republican opponent, Arizona Sen. John McCain, for backing deregulation policies that he said brought on the collapse in the banking system.

I just heard a sound bite of this on the radio. In my opinion, McCain needs to come out today and make a statement that "Obama is a liar and he knows it" or something else provocative guaranteed to make headlines. Go into details on the causes. Nothing is going to get passed for a couple more weeks and McCain cannot just play nice right before the election while Obama is playing politics.
Good Lord - what audiacity! And not the audiacity of hope, the audacity of a pathological liar and denier.
McCain does need to call him out TODAY, in front of cameras, and show the man where the greed lies and what acorns it sprouted from.
NOW IS THE TIME for McCain to start saying “I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO ASKED FOR REGULATIONS...and NAME NAMES.
“Greed”?
Sorry, lightweight...I got naked, thug racism and white fear of standing up against the sick pathology of political correctness.
There was more greed and market hype in the 1990s (Clinton era) than in the 1980s (Reagan-Bush).
Also there were those who cried DO NOT IMPEACH BILL CLINTON, THE STOCK MARKET COULDN’T HANDLE IT.
This ‘verdict’ needs to be laid at the feet of Congressional Democrats ASAP. Meanwhile, McCain fiddles while his campaign burns.

How many Fannie Mae,Fannie Mac advisors are also advising the Obama campaign?
The guy is DIRTY with dirty money. He’s a fraud. The dictator wears no clothes.
This lying scum makes the clintons seem like saints.
Of course we know it was his commrades that are mostly to blame, a few exceptions noted. I guess to repent their sins Obama gave two of the worst culprits Franky and Jimmy high profile economic postitions in his campaign.
Of course he should but he has already stated from what I understand he will not. Is the GOP really this stupid?
Not quite. I haven't seen Dodds, Frank, Pelosi, Waters, et al doing the perp walk.
Apparently McCain hasn't noticed, but Hussein has taken his gloves off, and is using McCain as a punching bag. It's time for McCain to knock Hussein 0bama to the ground on this while he still can. IMO, the window of opportunity for McCain on this one closes well before the final bailout plan is stabilized.
And who refused to stop the recklessness?
The Democrats. Even Bill Clinton comes right out and says that.
ENVY! It’s one of my favorite sins...signed Satan.
Apparently so. I don't think the Republican's one-sided Alphonse and Gaston routine is appropriate or funny at all.
My guess is McCain’s RINO advisors are telling him that he will lose the independent voters if he does not support the bailout bill. What they don’t seem to realize is that he will piss off the base if he does support it...the same base that got fired up after the convention. I feel sorry for Palin trying to defend McCain’s vote in the debate tomorrow, while Joe Biden sits there grinning.
And you probably won't as long as McCain has anything to say about it. *sigh*
"Vanity, definately my favorite sin."
What a d-bag.
