Washington, D.C. (AHN) - Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) will be speaking at his eldest son's deployment to Iraq as a member of the Delaware National Guard on Friday, according to MSNBC.
Biden, who has no campaign events until his debate with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Thursday, will speak at a deployment ceremony for the 261st Signal Brigade, which his son Beau is a part of, as part of his position as the longest-serving Delaware senator.
"I have to admit to you, I wish he wasn't going," Biden told ET last week. "It does make it more personal... when you've been out there in... these different places and you see these guys knowing your son's going to be in that situation."
Beau Biden, who gave a touching introduction to his father in last month's Democratic National Convention, is Delaware's attorney general. His deployment comes nearly three weeks after Palin's eldest son, 19-year old Track, was deployed to Iraq.
Come back safely! I have two kids in the active military and I know how tough this is!

Good for Joe. Maybe now he’ll think twice about undermining our military for cheap political advantage.
God’s blessings on his family.
>>His father is on the record as saying, “I don’t want him going. But I tell you what, I don’t want my grandson or my granddaughters going back in 15 years, and so how we leave makes a big difference <<
Isn’t that exactly what McCain said that the debate??
God bless and grant him honorable service and a safe return.
Why, thank you, Ma’am. *blush*
Also, thank you, and all the other military family members for their faithful service to their active duty loved ones at home and abroad.
Sending over the JAG to prosecute Track after his first fire fight. The question is “was this planned all along or just recently arranged?” They cynic in me says the latter is true.
Beau Biden, ... is Delaware's attorney general.
And why am I also cynical that this guy will be safe and snug in a JAG office...trying to find charges to bring against REAL troops; and ways to release prisoners?
I dont hink I will go there. Anyone who heads to iraq in service to our country repub or dem will get my admiration. If he proves to be what you are cynical about, then I say let him have it, until I thank him for his service.
Nice sentiment. Not very realistic, but nice.
Me; I’ll wait until there really is service to thank him for, at which point he can mutually thank me for mine.
come on this free republic. We dont dis people on their motives for joining the entirely voluntary military and being sent to harms way. That is a du tactic. If he has alterior motives then he will be taken care of in due time.
Frankly speaking — I NEVER observed a JAG Captain in a foxhole....
Perhaps when the shells started landing close to the Saigon whorehouses - a few JAG Captains may have hopped out of the sack and into a bunker.....
But foxhole -— I seriously doubt it...
Beau is the Attorney General of Delaware - an elected post..
Yes, he is a politician - following in the teat sucking steps of his worthless father.
One can be sure he will have more “cover” than did Algore during his ticket punching “tour” in Vietnam....
I hope I’m wrong, but I doubt it.
Dat’s da lawyer. ;)
Tell it to River Rat, too.
