Washington, D.C. (AHN) - Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) will be speaking at his eldest son's deployment to Iraq as a member of the Delaware National Guard on Friday, according to MSNBC.
Biden, who has no campaign events until his debate with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Thursday, will speak at a deployment ceremony for the 261st Signal Brigade, which his son Beau is a part of, as part of his position as the longest-serving Delaware senator.
"I have to admit to you, I wish he wasn't going," Biden told ET last week. "It does make it more personal... when you've been out there in... these different places and you see these guys knowing your son's going to be in that situation."
Beau Biden, who gave a touching introduction to his father in last month's Democratic National Convention, is Delaware's attorney general. His deployment comes nearly three weeks after Palin's eldest son, 19-year old Track, was deployed to Iraq.
If I where a cynic, I would almost think this is another ‘see, I have a bracelet too’ moment.
It’s good to use the National Guard.
May the Lord protect this young man, and may he came back victorious.
Don’t be a cynic. If that were the case, Biden would have simply put on a bracelet.
It’s not cynical - Betcha a dope deal was cut at the two-star level to get this strap-hanging JAG a trip downrange.
That is, if this fobbit ever leaves Udairi...
Stay safe Beau, so you can come back and face charges of malfeasance for the arrest and attempted prosecution of Larry Sinclair.
Where is Hunter Biden, and why doesn’t the press care?
No R’s or D’s in Foxholes. Only patriots.
Nonetheless, I am glad that you have the courage to serve your country. May God Bless You!
He should be very happy that his son is deploying, else he’d be compared to Pres. Bush and Dan Quayle, who “hid out” in the National Guard so they wouldn’t have to go to war./sarc
Yes, prayers for both Track and Beau. I have serious reserations about them serving in direct conflict with the enemy though......either of them and especially the one who’s parent is elected. We already have had McCain in the Hanoi Hilton for years......we do not need one of them be-headed. Prayers up.
Roger that.
“He should be very happy that his son is deploying, else hed be compared to Pres. Bush and Dan Quayle, who hid out in the National Guard so they wouldnt have to go to war./sarc”
Ralph, as the daughter and wife of Air National Guardsman that have both been to war, I could kiss you for that remark!
Freegards,

strike Guardsman, insert GuardsMEN, nothing weird here, move along
tee hee

LOL....well stated Sarge !
Stay safe !
Yup. These guys can't be put anywhere they can get captured. The Queda monkeys would demand _billions_ and when they didn't get it, put out films for weeks to gin up recruitment then behead them. It can't be allowed to happen.
This is not to mention the various brass who'd get drug in front of congressional inquiries and ruined. They will prevent this for self-preservation...perhaps not overtly, but it will impact all decisions that affect either of these guys.
It's just bad policy to put high value kidnap targets in the field of operations.
Is this the lawyer?
Godspeed to him and all our soldiers.
