Hey Pelosi! You despicable lying back-stabber. EAT THIS!! (Vote list and errata)
Clerk of the house ^ | 9/29/2008 | GVnana

Posted on 09/29/2008 12:28:35 PM PDT by GVnana

Final vote counts here: http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2008/roll674.xml

Background:

Saturday, September 27, 2008 Speaker Pelosi Blasts "Unpatriotic" Republicans For Skipping Meeting... A Meeting Dems Did Not Invite Them To!!

Despicable Nancy Pelosi calls GOP Unpatriotic for missing a meeting-- A meeting they were not invited to.

Here's some behind the scenes politicking by Democrats at the Congressional bailout talks today, via the House GOP:

I Just wanted to shoot this story regarding the ongoing negotiations your way before you hear the media spin the Dems are feeding them. Republicans were told today’s negotiations were for “principles.” Meaning each party’s lead negotiators – Senators Chris Dodd and Judd Gregg and Reps. Blunt and Frank. When we showed up to the meeting the list of Dems walking in the door kept growing to include all the above along with Democrats:

Rahm Emanuel (arguable the most political member of the House) Charles Rangel (currently under an ethics investigation) Senator Max Baucus Senator Chuck Schumer (again, one of the most polarizing Members of Congress) Senator Kent Conrad Senator Jack Reed

That’s hardly the deal we were promised, like Mr. Blunt quipped to reporters, “I think the ratio's about fair. It's two to eight or something."

And, the Dem spin machine is still in full swing. They said we boycotted earlier meetings, well, as Chris Dodd said last night on NBC, they just forgot to call us. So, maybe an 8-2 fight is the best we’ve had all week because we are at least at the table.

Later today... Speaker Pelosi had the gall to go before cameras and call the Republican members of the House "unpatriotic" for not attending that earlier meeting.

(The meeting Dodd admitted they weren't invited to.)

And, here is more from Pelosi claiming she was never warned about the financial crisis. She's lying, of course.

the members of the democrat party are proof positive that the democrat party has institutionalized severe mental illness.

decisions are now being made by insane individuals who have no contact with reality. (and the whole shooting match is being led by the “i’m trying to save the planet” lady.)

unbelievable and absolutely criminal.

That link you posted is for To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide earnings assistance and tax relief to members of the uniformed services, volunteer firefighters, and Peace Corps volunteers, and for other purposes.

The link somebody provided on another thread:

QUESTION: On Agreeing to the Resolution BILL TITLE: Rule providing for consideration of the Senate amendment to the House amendment to the Senate amendment to H.R. 3997, the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008.

There it says Braley voted yes. I called his office, and they said he voted no, they sent me his press release saying he was against it. What's with that, did he change it or something? Maybe the link immediately above wasn't the final vote. It clearly has Braley in the Ayes section.

See my post 70. I caught something that sounded so out of synk with the bailout bill.

This is a very strange split. Not only does it cross party lines, it crosses ideological lines.

Even here on FR we are attacking each other; some say the bailout is socialism, some say it is absolutely necessary.

To call this bizarre would be an understatement, and I don’t think we really know what is going on. Unfortunately, it appears that Congress does not know, either.

She slurred words and her gestures were sloppy.

It looks like this bailout package was an amendment to an existing bill.

According to Human Events, that roll call vote is correct, the title on the clerks website is in error.

"The link is for the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. Note: The description of H.R. 3997 on the link is incorrect."

So, we have the best data available.

A lot of congressmen seem to think this bill was a good idea. Some of them even say that the taxpayers will make money when the assets are sold off.

Here’s my proposal: As a little thank you for so prudently investing our tax dollars, I think we should add a paragraph to the bill investing the entire congressional retirement benefits of those who vote for the bill as part of this once in a lifetime investment opportunity. They should appreciate the opportunity to have some skin in the game. I know I will.

Both of these RATs are up for re-election here in NH, too, and the sentiment up here is about 95% against it. People of all political pursuasions look at it as major league corporate welfare, regardless of the pork.

Nazi Pelosi may have overplayed her hand.

Mom and I was listening to Hannity and she said that if she was in the House with Nancy Pelosi, she'd “deck her one.” I know Mom is 70 years old, but she would spank Pelosi “like a 4 year old in K-Mart.” Knowing my mother, if she was a Representative, she's probably end up in fist fights in Congress/ B-)
