I just called Congressman McCotters office to say thank you. He was on Fox a few minutes ago all fired up. He is NOT behind this bill
I spoke with a very nice guy who took my name and address, said the Congressman would send me a letter (no, I dont expect him too, he's a tad busy right now).
I asked this nice guy to pass on the thank you and to keep up the good fight. I also asked if he knew which Republicans were for or against it because we are hearing conflicting things (but I do trust McCotter's words over pelosi). He said he didn't know.

Just called John Boehner’s office. They could not confirm nor deny if he is for or against the bailout. Said the Republicans fought hard to remove the posk. I asked about ACORN and pork being removed, he said that’s what he was told.
He also said the bill is being typed out right now and will be available later for us to see. I also asked him to pass on thanks and encouragement to keep on fighting!
Can’t get through, line is busy. Will keep trying. EVERY SINGLE PERSON, WITHOUT FAIL, LURKING OR A MEMBER OF FREE REPUBLIC NEEDS/MUST CALL THE HOUSE REPUBLICANS AND SAY THANKS FOR STANDING UP FOR US.
This is a battle without actual bullets. We need to do our part.

Finally got through to McCotter’s office. They have been getting a lot of calls expressing our sentiments. I directed the staffer to read the threads on Free Republic.

I hope that one day McCotter is in a more prominent position in the Republican Party. He speaks with intelligence and clarity and is an impassioned advocate for the constitution and free market economics. Check him out on youtube.

I just tried and the line is busy. Will be calling my Rep Bill Young again, but his line has been busy all morning and when I did get through his mailbox was full.:) I know he will stand firm against earmarks!

I have no idea what his race for re-election looks like. I just made a contribution. Unfortunately I am currently represented in the House by Sheila Jackson Lee (ugh) so whatever chance I have to help out conservatives I will take.

Just got through - after many redials because of busy signal. Talked to a nice young man who seemed to be in a good mood even though his phone is ringing off the hook. Lots of calls supporting McCotter and the Repubs’ continued fight.

The bailout would have been a democrat plan and would of helped our election chances.
-Our economy will not be crushed. I work in finance, have graduate degrees, and certifications. We will enter a normal recession. This plans props up income and property values for more taxation. In a recession the government and private companies cuts away inefficent programs for future growth. Not doing so prolongs things = depression.
Our party must be the party of the individual. It must not sell out the individual to cater to the group. No greater challenge faces our society today than ensuring that each one of us can maintain his dignity and his identity in an increasingly complex, centralized society.
Extreme taxation, excessive controls, oppressive government competition with business, galloping inflation, frustrated minorities and forgotten Americans are not the products of free enterprise. They are the residue of centralized bureaucracy, of government by a self-anointed elite.
Our party must be based on the kind of leadership that grows and takes its strength from the people. Any organization is in actuality only the lengthened shadow of its members. A political party is a mechanical structure created to further a cause. The cause, not the mechanism, brings and holds the members together. And our cause must be to rediscover, reassert and reapply America’s spiritual heritage to our national affairs.
