Film-maker Michael Moore has apparently praised the gulf weather for its chance of disrupting the Republican convention: “This hurricane is proof that there is a god in heaven.” Another low point in politics, though possibly one that could be passed off with a laugh—a partisan irony, rather than a serious derangement.
But over on the leftist Daily Kos website, there is a post that sinks much lower—so low that it caused many of the commentators to denounce it. Which led another commentator to make this remark:
I am prepared to do whatever is necessary to destroy the Republican Party as it exists today as well as everything it stands for.
If health insurance for all, an end to the Iraq War, an end to torture and illegal wiretapping, and a sane energy policy can be obtained at the price of destroying one teenage girl, her family, and the surrendering our self-respect I see that as a cheap trade.
Go talk about nobility of purpose to those 4,000+ dead American soldiers in Iraq.
Indeed, as another comment added:

Are you telling me that you would not use character-destroying lies to ensure a war against Iran does not occur?
Are you telling me you would not spread lies about a man’s integrity, even if it defeated a candidate who take away the right to choose?
Are you telling me you would not destroy the love a family holds for one another, even if it meant letting someone who would destroy the constitution become president?
None of use would use these tactics in a perfect world. It is not a perfect world. It is a fallen world. We have to judge costs and benefits, not moral absolutes. I know this is the way to fanaticism and destruction—believe me I do. But, when we face opponents such as the ones we face . . . what else is there for us to do?
What choice do we have? When faced with monsters, we have to be monstrous ourselves.

When they are ordinary politicians whose views you so strongly reject that you have to elevate them into monsters to explain to yourself why they could hold such mistaken views?

This is nothing new for that ilk “The end justifies the means,” “You can’t have an omlette without breaking a few eggs.” These have always been the Left’s operating principles since Robespierre.
I think the RNC convention was the latest event that showed us that the Left is willing to cross all of the lines of civilization in order to have their way. Most of them are cowards and only do this because nobody stops them, and that includes the police, apparently, as well as any and all levels of government. The real Americans, therefore, have to take matters into their own hands. That is the only way this madness will be stopped. Specifically, anytime the Left resorts to violence and destruction, we should be there to return the favor 10-fold. We are only kidding ourselves if we believe we will prevail any other way.

The Republican response to the hurricane is proof that there is a McCain at the helm of this election campaign and advantage again goes to the Republicans.Not only did the Republican Convention NOT get drowned out but it was the center of the news more than it would have been without the hurricane. McCain stays two or three steps inside the of the Democrats’ loop at every turn. In fact he has the Democrat tailpipe in his Sparrow sights even now.
With McAmnesty, if it comes with McCain, we can win this one and we are still gone.
Oh, yeah. The anarchists are attacking delegates physically and the Kos brats are talking about Whatever It Takes, meaning whatever they think they can get away with. Socialism is inherently murderous. When the university kids taste a little power and the exhilaration of crushing the Enemy there is no mercy because there is no sense of suffering, only moral righteousness and total power. The kiddies love Che because there's a little of Che in each and every one of them. Mostly they grow out of it. Some don't. Those who don't grow to have a taste for execution. Che certainly did.
These are cheery assassins smirking behind the anonymity of a keyboard, at least at the moment. When it's safe to come out, they will. And they will excuse acts of appalling cruelty and inhumanity with a pious reference to higher truth, just as they are excusing character assassination and the filthiest of lies at the moment, because they always have. It's all for something better, you see. A 17-year-old's life sacrificed for the Greater Good is justified. A few eggs must be broken to make an omelet. Only somehow the omelet never shows up, only the broken eggs.
But I think we're still in Wolfe's awkward stage. For now. It wouldn't hurt to purchase a little extra ammunition, though, against the day when the awkward stage is past. That sort of thing tends to come on well before the people in it are ready.

This is the sad reality. Lieberman made it clear that his support for McCain is based largely on McCain's support of Lieberman's liberal positions on amnesty, campaign reform, global warming, etc.
McCain's election could be a Pyrrhic victory which doesn't even slow our decent into big government liberalism and cultural destruction.
This is the face of the new Democratic party. This is who they are, this is what they do.

Actually they have to elevate them into monsters to justify to themselves their own being monsters, It’s nothing but psychological projection.

Any sane man would prefer that you not be right in your assessment, Noumenon, but the commentary from these fools demonstrates that sanity is a commodity in very short supply, and dwindling fast. What is going to happen, will happen, and when that final line is crossed, then we know what our response must be.
