Voters Should be Troubled by Obama's Abortion Stance
chicago tribune ^ | 8/26/08 | Dennis Byrne

Can we just listen to ourselves? We're debating whether some babies born alive have a right to medical attention.

How have we come to this? Can't we all agree that everyone whose heart beats, brain functions and lungs respire at birth should have a chance to live? If we're a compassionate, rational and just society, we would say, "Of course, every infant has a right to lifesaving medical attention. Even if it's not wanted."

But an unthinkable debate is raging as a part of the presidential campaign, centering on how Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama voted while he was an Illinois state senator on legislation designed to protect the lives and health of all newborns. The debate over Obama's voting record has grown so arcane that we've lost sight of why this question ever came up: Some infants that survive abortion are denied medical assistance. They are left to die.

Jill Stanek, a former nurse at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, described in 2001 during congressional testimony how it happens: In a "live-birth abortion," doctors "do not attempt to kill the baby in the uterus. The goal is simply to prematurely deliver a baby who dies during the birth process or soon afterward." Medication stimulates the cervix to open, allowing the baby to emerge, sometimes alive. "It is not uncommon for a live aborted baby to linger for an hour or two or even longer. At Christ Hospital, one . . . lived for almost an entire eight-hour shift." Some actually are born healthy because they are aborted to preserve the "health" of the mother, or because the pregnancy was due to rape or incest. At best, they are left in a "comfort room," .

I'm pleasantly surprised that this is in the Chicago Tribune.

Libs are all death-worshippers - whether they like it or not or know it or not.

They worship at the same demon-haunted altar and in the same pew as Mao, Stalin and Pol Pot.

When you examine the pedigree of their ideas, what you come to understand is that the abortion issue is one of the keystones to devaluing human life. This is something that is implicit in the ideology of the Left; it’s cast into their philosophical DNA.

Humans are things.

That the essence of it. Humans are fungible and ultimately disposable “assets”.

This is why you’ve got the likes of Margaret Sanger and Dr. Peter Singer doing their damndest to move the goalposts when it comes to defining life and humanity. Singer, for example, has argued that infants up to 28 months old don’t really have any cognitive ability that defines them as human. So it’s OK to ‘terminate’ them if the parent (or really, the State) so chooses.

Who lives, who dies. THAT’s the power they seek in pursuit of their Utopia. They are all monsters, monsters from the deepest dark heart of of our existence and history is replete with the outcomes and the evidence of their sick Utopian ideas: slaughter and mass murder on a scale that beggars the imagination.

History also tells us what we must do to deal with them. As does my tagline.

Obama has no core values.

He can change over night!

Himmler would have been charged, convicted and hanged by the neck had he performed a late term abortion on a jewish baby.

We as a nation have failed to keep control of our government and if you can’t look at what is running for president and see that you are totally blind.

If John McCain fails we will be the laughting stock of the planet.

That crowd you saw in Germany was there enjoying a rock concert and the MSN never explaned that to the people.
Do you really believe that many Germans would come out to see the muslim speak and they had never heard of the man?
The MSN is the biggest liars we have. I believe Joe Scarborugh proved my point.

Jill Stanek, the nurse who blew the whistle on this horrific practice, is blogging from the DNC this week. She is one of the very few conservative bloggers accepted to be in the official blogger/media tent. She is a true American hero.

Her blog/website is: http://www.jillstanek.com

Obama should be designated the Black Genocide Candidate. Each year the 683,000+ Black babies aborted is more than the Black populations of Atlanta, District of Columbia, and Oakland combined.

BO would probably prefer bludgeoning to death the impertinent babies that would not die outright rather than simply leaving them to die.

Closer to Satan than most think.

Conservatives, pay close attention. This “born alive” issue, if handled properly, could pave the way for a solid national anti-Roe majority.

I agree and it looks like some of our democratic politicians are doing the same thing and the Catholic Church should step up and lay it on the line like they did with Joe Biden.

They have.... a few days ago someone posted an article in FR about BXVI declaring that pro-abortion Catholics would not be allowed to partake of the sacraments...

(I think it was him..)

I said to myself...About time...

How can someone say they are Catholic and yet push abortion and support those who push abortion ?????

When the Pope of Rome finally takes charge of his flock you will see a turn around in thinking here in the USA.

I am Baptist but, find myself liking the Catholics.

The Pope of Rome is still the Number one Christian in the World.
The last Popes allowed sin to flourish throughout the Christian world and now you see where we have come to.

Today the preachers are afraid to lay it on the line because they do not wish to offend someone and not get an offering.

I’m not a Catholic myself, but I respect their stand on the abortion issue...

And yes, the Pope is the “leader” of Christianity to the world...

This one is more conservative I think...

I believe they all have core values.

They just understand that their core values are abhorrent to the majority of people, so they must hide them until they get the power to implement them.
