The latest Democrat lie of the day is about McCain listing Rep. John Lewis as one of his advisors in response to this question at Saddleback:
Who were the three wisest people that you know that you would rely on heavily in an administration?
McCain said: "John Lewis was at the Edmund Pettus Bridge, had his skull fractured; continued to serve, continues to have the most optimistic outlook about America. He can teach us all a lot about the meanings of courage and commitment to causes greater than our self-interest."
The left is out today with numerous stories saying that McCain lied, because Rep.Lewis has "no relationship with McCain". In fact, Lewis issued this statement:
"I cannot stop one human being, even a presidential candidate, from admiring the courage and sacrifice of peaceful protesters on the Edmund Pettus Bridge or making comments about it." But, he added, "Sen. McCain and I are colleagues in the US Congress, not confidantes. He does not consult me. And I do not consult him." --The Daily Voice
Well, I went to the website of Rep Lewis, and read his biography here:
http://johnlewis.house.gov/index.php...d=17&Itemid=31
Surprise, surprise.... Just look what Congressman Lewis says in the second paragraph of his biography:
It seems the Congressman thinks highly enough of Senator McCain to use his own words to build himself up...
Well so much for Lewis teaching McCain about commitment.
nice find
Guess Lewis might not be so courageous afterall.
Golly, I can’t wait for Olbermann (and Lewis) to retract his lies.
Politics can have a highly corrosive effect on the soul. Vince Foster bemoaned the fact it is a “blood sport”.
McCain was probably counting on many “friends” in this run.
“We’re all behind you!” Yea, right, way way behind him.
Lewis has cashed in his integrity. (And he should get speech some therapy).
Busted Big Time.
I’ll bet they take that off his site ASAP.
Isn’t John Lewis the idiot who claimed that so many slave bodies were thrown off ships that it changed the ecology of the ocean and that sharks still follow that route today? If so I think that skull fracture did some permanent damage.
That was Major Owens.
McCain needs to quit being a sucker for the Democrats.
“That was Major Owens.”
I stand corrected, however I’d bet John Lewis believes the same thing.
John Lewis is an unprincipled ideologue who does not even read his own bio...!
But isn’t this the guy who claimed that so many millions of dead slaves were thrown overboard from Africa to America that even today sharks swim along the slave traders’ route looking for something to eat?
“McCain needs to quit being a sucker for the Democrats.”
Ah c’mon, he wouldn’t be himself anymore.
It IS gone!!
I just checked, it’s still there, but I bet it will disappear.

What will be interesting to observe is how long it takes to revise Rep Lewis's web site?
I previously observed Obama's Trinity United Church of Christ web sites quick revision and removal of its 12-point Black Value System.
