"Russia can’t bully the whole world."

Sure it can. Historical similarities between the 1920' and '30's and now are/should be eye opening. Just wait.

Putin on "the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the century":
"World democratic opinion has yet to realize the alarming implications of President Vladimir Putin's State of the Union speech on April 25, 2005, in which he said that the collapse of the Soviet Union represented the 'greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the century.'

Russia, China flex muscles in joint war games
Reuters: Aug 17, 2007

CHEBARKUL, Russia (Reuters) - Russia and China staged their biggest joint exercises on Friday but denied this show of military prowess could lead to the formation of a counterweight to NATO.

"Today's exercises are another step towards strengthening the relations between our countries, a step towards strengthening international peace and security, and first and foremost, the security of our peoples," Putin said.

Fighter jets swooped overhead, commandos jumped from helicopters on to rooftops and the boom of artillery shells shook the firing range in Russia's Ural mountains as two of the largest armies in the world were put through their paces.

The exercises take place against a backdrop of mounting rivalry between the West, and Russia and China for influence over Central Asia, a strategic region that has huge oil, gas and mineral resources.

Russia's growing assertiveness is also causing jitters in the West. Putin announced at the firing range that Russia was resuming Soviet-era sorties by its strategic bomber aircraft near NATO airspace.

Well...according to the Georgian Ministry, the Russians bombed the Ceyhan Pipeline..

That has nothing to do with South Ossetia, this is just a war of aggression on the Russians part.

The morning the fighting broke out, I tried to pull up some of the Georgia area tv station websites. Most would not even load. One posted a noticed that they were temporarily ceasing operations. Most of the video streaming links no longer worked.

I haven’t tried any of them since then.

Actually - control of the pipelines going through Georgia are the main point of this conflict.

God bless Poland. I will pray for this country for the rest of my life.

I got this email from a friend in Tbilisi today and want to post it again.

"War is terrible. People are not in the panic, but in that district, where I live Russians bombed small military airdrome 2 times yesterday.

They bomb all Georgia.

They bombed block of flats, where pregnant lady and kids died.

Too aggressive country. And we try to fight with them and save our independence during three centuries!

Please, pray for the lives of children here. Every morning I go at work, I am not sure that I will see my kid in the evening, when I will come back home .

Love and light,
Nino"

“Actually - control of the pipelines going through Georgia are the main point of this conflict.”

And, Russia feels VERY threatend by the joint Azer-Georgia-Turkey “Iron Silk Road” Railroad project, that effectively would by pass Russia for transit of goods in and out of the oil-rich Caspian Republics.

this passes DIRECTLY through the threatened city of GORI.

I wondered if that was why they bombed Gori, thanks!

Gori was a city, not a village, so I was surprised. The pics are horrid from Gori right now.
