I was thinking about voting for McCain.
His recent backsliding on Social Security (increasing the taxes on the motivated, but not their benefits) make me wonder.
Adding Romney to the mix would make me vote third party -— and give money and time third party.

Pawlenty is vacant. And he looks and comes across wormly. That choice would be so weak and disturbing to most that it would be hello President Obama.

I am putting money on Pawlenty. If Obama picks Kaine in an attempt to pull VA, McCain is almost forced to counter with Pawlenty and flip Minnesota.

Romney has charisma. He has gravitas, intellect, and is media savvy. And he has been vetted completely.
With Pawlenty, the press will have a field day digging up the most insignifigant of items and blowing them out of proportion... and the McCain campaign does NOT have the time to be fending off baloney.
ROMNEY is the best pick, tried and true, with good economic credentials.... something McCain sorely lacks.
GO ROMNEY!!

Incontrovertably, it is Rice.
Irrefutably, it is Lieberman.
Positively, it is Hagel.
Absolutely, it is Bloomberg,
Huckabee,
Romney,
Jeb Bush,
Crist,
Hillary Clinton,
Bill Clinton,
et al.

The only VP candidates McCain should consider are:
Romney
thompson
Rudy
this candidate needs to be seen by the greater electorate as 1st-day presidential material due to McCain's age.
Pawlenty and Palin would both be disasterous from that point of view.

Pawlenty would be awful...so it’s probably him. Good match for McCain.

He's also scheduled to attend the Olympics Opening Ceremonies in Beijing.) Announcing Romney before the opening ceremony and then getting highlighted what a bangup job Mitt did with ECONOMIC ISSUES with a previous Olympics would be great media coverage. As far as some of the evangelicals "boycotting" McCain because due to a Mormon on the ticket... that's statistical "noise" to be ignored.

Pawlenty is Dan Quail reincarnated. Dan was a good conservative and badly maligned but not a World Series/Super Bowl stage player and neither is Pawlenty.

With oil and gasoline prices likely to be the big issue, McCain should ignore favorite-son calculi and pick Sarah Palin. She’s the most vocal pro-drilling elected official with the necessary stature, and would likely turn the PUMAs who planned to stay home into one-time GOP voters.

I voted for Pawlenty twice and have nothing but respect for the guy. He has had to move to the left to reach the center where Romney has had to move to the right.
Pawlenty balanced a 4.3 billion dollar deficit he inherited from Jesse Ventura WITHOUT RAISING TAXES as well as giving us CCW.
He is a safe bet and has no baggage.

Neither, the only two conservatives I've seen with the moxie for the job are two of the unlikeliest. Jon Voight who had the chops to take on Obamamania in an editorial and Sarah Palin who took on the entire US Congress on drilling for oil in America.
If Romney had been walking his talk these past years he'd be fine.
Pawlenty strikes me as just another go along to get along moderate Republican. I think we've had enough of that.

Romney.
The answer starts with Paw who? I know, he’s the governor of frostlandia. But he’s got virtual 0 name recognition among the great unwashed.
