Why, this cannot be....I mean, this upstanding, knowledgeable, experienced, military-oriented candidate for Commander-in-Chief said “WE WILL REMOVE OUR TROOPS BEGINNING IMMEDIATELY UPON MY ELECTION AS PRESIDENT” ....

There must be some mistake here....lying, leftist, liberal, socialists do not make false statements just to get elected....must just be bad reporting...

if he’s elected,

his nuts are going to be in a vice:

either leave the troops in iraq,

or

withdraw them as the left demands.

then, history will blame the defeat on obama.

Residual Force? So some US forces are to remain in Iraq after 16 months? How long Barack? Maybe a hundred years?

This should really piss off the "Nut Roots".

“...history will blame the defeat on obama.”

Viet Nam wasn’t blamed on Nixon. Viet Nam was primarily blamed on America. Only those of us that are Politically, Militarily alert, and give a damn are aware it was the Democrats.

Obama and the Democrats would skate on this one too I fear. It would be blamed by the MSM and the Dems on Bush, and the “NeoCons”.

I think Obama never intended to fully withdraw from Iraq. His politics are best compared to Bill Clinton. He will go to the center on some issues while throwing a bone or two to the radical left.

Just my two cents.

Not at all. Once he's elected he'll do to his hard-left base the same thing McCain has always done to the conservative base - throw them under the bus.

The media will cover for him, the same way they covered for Bill Clinton when he "discovered", after the election, that things were much worse than he'd been told, and he "just couldn't" deliver those tax cuts he'd promised.

The "powers that be" will not allow Obama to precipitously withdraw from Iraq, no matter what he has promised; they have too much invested and too much at stake. If he needs to lie to get elected, however, they're quite okay with that, because they know that they own him, and once he's elected he'll do as he's told.

They also know that, once they get past this election, regardless of which of their puppet candidates "wins", it won't much matter what the American people want anymore...

Obambi continues to prove he is a lying fraud — his boasts that he would “end the war” are now shown to be hollow by Obambi himself. His heart is with the far-left, I don’t doubt that, but now he is willing to spout any b.s. at all to try to win in the general election. Amazing that everyone does not see through him, but he does have so much protection and propaganda from the MSM. Still, it is good to see that his “Presidential World Tour” does not seem to be giving him any bump in popularity.

Jul 26, 2008 ------- Obama says conditions to dictate final Iraq force

Jan. 30, 2007 ----- Obama wants troops home by spring ’08 ……. Illinois senator, presidential candidate introduces bill to force redeployment

If Obama had had his way, the war would be lost now, Iran would be in control of Iraq and, with its quest for nuclear weapons, Iran would be well on its way towards controlling the Persian Gulf which contains 70% of the World's known oil reserves.

2006 ----- Sen. John McCain's reaction to the Iraq Study Group Report, ---- "I understand the polls show only 18 percent of the American people support my position (The Surge). But I have to do what's right, what I believe is right and what my experience and knowledge and background tells me is the right thing to do in order to save this situation in Iraq ... In war, my dear friends, there's no such thing as compromise. You either win or you lose."

Yes. With this RULE #1: SAY WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET ELECTED.

You’ll have plenty of time to break promises once your in office.

This is purely a defensive “eliminate the space between me and McCain on the issue.”

“The MSM claimed McCain adopted Obama’s position on the Afghan surge!”

The MSM are lying Obama-kneepd-wearing Obamedia freaks, and here’s the proof:

http://travismonitor.blogspot.com/2008/07/obama-18-months-behind-mccain-on.html

Dec 2006 - MCcain seeks more troops in Afghanistan during a visit there:

“If it’s necessary, we will (send additional troops), and I’m sure we would be agreeable, but the focus here is more on training the Afghan National Army and the police, as opposed to the increased U.S. troop presence,” ... “Taliban remains a very big threat, and we have a long way go to before they are eradicated,”

Now the meme of the week is how Obama is ‘leading the way’ in calling for more troops in Afghanistan. This Obama guy is like a clown who jumps in front of a parade and thinks that means he’s leading it.

=> MCCAIN WAS THERE 18 MONTHS AGO AND WAS 18 MONTHS AHEAD OF OBAMA ON THE ISSUE.

18 months ago Al Qaida was still concentrating on Iraq. It wasn’t until within the past six months or so, and due to the Surge that Al Qaida stated they were throwing in the towel in Iraq, and heading for Afghanistan.

The confidence of the Iraqi Security Forces helped more recently in that defeat of Al Qaida as well. It’s not over in Iraq as there are, and will be incidents, but it’s a win.

We will have no choice but to Surge Afghanistan to put an end to Al Qaida’s murderous ways there.

It’s Surge Afghanistan, or lose it. I trust NOT in Obama.
