Mostly they see somebody putting those CO2 scrubbers over their big fat heads.
“If we keep pumping the surface water of this lake back down to the bottom, we can reduce its level.”
People emit CO2 dammit. Are these klutzs trying to build a case for genocide?
Yuppers
The Texas Forest service issues “carbon credits” for stands of pine trees. These can be traded on the exchange for whatever. It was 3.50 last time I looked. It is about 30.00 in Europe.
Pine trees should be outlawed! Doesn’t Algore buy carbon credits from himself to excuse his life style?
barbra ann
Wrong. They oppose it because not enough money would go into their pockets: the carbon offset "market."
When are conservatives going to call this the corporate racket that it is?
You raise a very good point. Specifically targeting changes in gas concentrations in the atmosphere without really having a good handle on the science good be disastrous. No one knows enough at this point to start messing with the atmosphere on a large scale.

Don’t allow yourself to be fooled.
These so-called “environmentalists” know exactly what they’re doing.
And it has little to do with the environment.
LLS
Proof in my opinion the Environmentalmidgets have an agenda more grandiose than simply the Environment.
Gore-ons want to take over the entire national economy, indeed all of the world’s economies, so technical improvements that help to control or reduce CO2 output are most unwelcome.
These environuts are religious fanatics of a very extreme form, so facts, evidence, rationality, technical progress, etc. mean nothing to them.

but they can go and live that style any time they want. What right do they have trying to fob off their nature boy style of living to those of us who are sane?
DING! DING! DING! DING! DING!
Give our lucky winner a cigar!!
Now, let's think about this for just one microsecond longer than your average Leftist.
What is "capitalism", really?
Isn't it simply a system where people who have stuff they want to sell, can offer it for sale, and people who want to buy something can contact someone who sells that kind of thing, and initiate a transaction using some predetermined medium of exchange??
At root "capitalism" is simply one human deciding that another human has something for which he is willing to trade something of value, because he has a need or desire that makes the object more valuable to him than whatever he is parting with to get it.
If I buy a new LCD HD-TV for $1300, it's because I mentally assess that the TV is worth more than the $1300 I'm paying for it.
Forgive my belaboring the point, but is all of that not simply "choice"?
What becomes crystal clear when we take the analysis to this level is that the average leftist has A) never thought through this to this level, or B) somehow believes that human nature will tolerate, or even may welcome, the control of available choices by an external force; usually government.
So, we see that these people must, necessarily, be ignorant, or tyrrants, but that, in either case, they really understand nothing of human nature.
As such, they are dangerous tools of their own ignorance and self-delusion, and are a force that must be cast into the dust, by every legal means.
For some. For others (the watermelons), a way to bring the US down to its knees.
My “undeniable truth about liberalism, #2” states that
“liberals” support NO freedoms outside of those related to consequence-free sexual behavior.
The problem for self described environmentalists is people.
You are more right than you may realize.

Their last gathering was distinctly political with an eye to acting as a global political body. We here in the US may brush them off as a viable political body, but they are organizing themselves in a manner that will affect us. I know I’ve always sort of discounted them as influential, but this email sort of “woke me up” to what is going on outside my own country.
I am seeing this as the whole “global citizen” idea going from virtual chatter to reality.
Charter http://www.global.greens.org.au/Charter2001.pdf
No where in their charter does it hold each nation as a sovereign entity. If one joins this party, does this mean one rejects the standards of one’s own country? And if so, does a ‘green’ participating in the US equate to treason by virtue of working to subvert the policies of the US for the global good?
