A Georgia man appeared in court Monday on charges he killed his own daughter for disgracing his family.
Chaudhry Rashid, wearing a red jumpsuit and shackles around his ankles, went before Chief Judge Daphne Walker at the Clayton County Magistrate Court where he was arraigned on a murder charge.
The 54-year-old, who is of Pakistani descent, kept his head down as charges were read, and appeared to have difficulty understanding instructions from the judge, possibly the result of a language barrier.
His two sons were also in attendance, watching their father from seats in the rear of the courtroom, joined by two others. Rashid waved to their corner as he shuffled slowly out, impeded by the shackles.
The 25-year-old victim, Sandeela Kanwal, was wed in Pakistan in an arranged marriage. Police said Kanwal hadn't seen her husband, who lives in Chicago, for months.

In such instances as this, a swift and abject example MUST be made each and every time it occurs if we have any hope of arresting it. Otherwise (as is already happening) many, many girls and women will die at their hands on our own shores.

That don’t mean he’s Muslim, but the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the headline was, “the perp is Muslim”. It seems Muslims are willing to commit the worst atrocities to “protect” the honor of the people they are killing.
Go figure.
This is not the Georgia I knew.
How different we are from these people.
My family would consider it a disgrace to have a murdering psychopath in the family.

I totally agree with your post. I also think if these people want to live as they do in their own countries then let them stay there. We don't need "honor killings" here.

Unfortunately, the powers that be are more concerned about promoting tolerance and diversity than they are about protecting women’s rights and lives. They don’t want to make an example of these murderers. Who knows what it will take for us to wake up and stop this barbarian invasion.
I work with a Muslim couple. Husband and wife. Naturalized citizens, formerly from Iran (prior to Khomeini) They would never even think of something this outrageous.
No doubt the judge will excuse the Pakistani so as not to “offend” the Islamic faith. I gather this type of killing is legal under Sharia law. God help us all!
Did anyone note the black women wearing orange in the courtroom where he was arraigned and their actions toward him? I read the lips of one of them murmur the black half word mother.

The man is probably shocked and upset that he’s even being put through this. In his country, in his religion- killing a daughter who disgraces the family is considered “normal”.

That is exactly what this guy’s neighbors said.
Horrible. This kind of depravity is a refutation of all the slovenly moral relativism of “multi-culturalism” — there are some actions that are absolutely immoral and any “culture” or “religion” that does not recognize this is depraved.
This so-called “father” thought he was upholding the honor of his family — any culture or religion worthy of respect should insist that murdering your own daughter is a permanent disgrace to your family’s honor, not to mention an objectively immoral action worthy of the death penalty.
One wonders how some of these people got into the country. He runs a pizza parlor. Is there a critical shortage of pizza parlor operators that we have to import them?
He was probably just doing 'community organizing' with 'former' friends of Obama.
Our government would be doing these folks a big favor if it began arranging for their safe return to their homelands. The next Saudi-financed wake-up-call could result in lots of mayhem in the streets of America. Why? Because we aren't France or England, that's why.
Once the magnitude of the problem of having a significant population of sympathizers to the jihadist's cause becomes apparent to most Americans, all bets are off.

Don’t be too sure, my Iranian neighbor beat his wife to death with a bedpost in their backyard. Lady next door saw it happen from her bedroom window and called police. He posted bond and fled to Iran, where he was supposedly a friend of the Shah.

Any father who would kill his own daughter has no honor. Barnyard swine have more honor and are more trustworthy than these people.
