That has to be one of the most ignorant comments I have ever seen on this site. Like it or not San Francisco is an AMERICAN city and the majority of its residents are AMERICAN citizens who deserve all the rights and protections that go along with it. They are mostly people who go about their lives working, providing for their families, and paying their taxes like everyone else; they are not “the enemy”.
Honestly, it is attitudes like this that make it harder and harder to stomach coming on here recently.
I put lol specifically at the beginning of the post so you did not take my post seriously.
Here’s the ethnic breakdown for San Francisco

And South San Francisco
http://www.greatschools.net/cgi-bin/ca/district_profile/801?schoolId=6993#students
I was writing a sarcastic comment, not a legal brief.
SF has a lot of officer ineligible student aliens, a lot of anti-war zealots, and a huge majority of Democrats.
Will 80% of SF’s residents even notice that JROTC has been cancelled, let alone get upset about it?

“There will be opportunities for leadership,” he said.
Comment:
Absolutely despicable, but then again this is what liberal homosexuals bring to a city.
School board president Sanchez needs to be taken out behind the barn for a very painful attitude adjustment.
JROTC is a great program in our schools, and I have no doubt that it is in California, too.
I notice that the article claims the board president is opposed to the military and has been trying to get rid of the JROTC program for a while. However, Luckystarmom points out that California does have new state regs regarding what can and cannot be considered PE. I’ve no doubt that cheerleaders and school athletes are in good physical condition and get more exercise than the average student, but that no longer counts as PE either.
I’ve just never heard of letting JROTC count as a PE course. Maybe that is common in other states; if anyone else has experience in other areas I’d be interested in hearing about whether or not JROTC is considered PE in other states.
Can the parents of the children who love JROTC get involved and have some impact? That’s really one of the best ways to influence a locally elected school board.
Just another reason not to live in San Francissyco...
Why do the feds spend one nickle in SF? Amazing.
Our CA Legislature is infested with ‘Rats closely allied with the anti-military/anti-USA crowd. We need that changed, God help us.
And you’re right, one of the best forces for change is the involved parents of the affected kids.
Sorry, I don’t speak gibberish.
You’re missing the point. The proper response here is to spout off knee jerk reactions about how the entire city should be sterilized and/or cut off from the rest of the country with electric fences, razor wire, and minefields. There is little room for your rational, common sense statement around here.
a. 1/3 is a minority. 2/3 > 1/3 .
While 1/3 is a minority, it is also a substantial portion, a very substantial one at that.
b. You confuse alien with illegal alien. Legal immigrants are going to be naturalized or naturalizable, guaranteed, one way or another. If they arent citizens now doesnt mean that they wont be when they reach their majorities, which is when they would be counted, if their parents (lots of them) are resident aliens. That is in fact typical of Asians. The proportion of citizens upon majority, natural born or naturalized, out of this pool, will be nearly 100%.
Your posts spend a lot of time referring to Asians my little crocodile, you wouldn't happen to be one would you? Zeestephen was speaking of the preponderance of illegals who happen to originate, for the most part, south of your borders in Mexico, Central and South America. You don't address them at all in your posts, just Asians, why is that?
c. We are discussing an injustice vs a minority of the SF population, those who VOLUNTEERED for JROTC, in this anti-military city.
I'm sorry, but I just don't see your point. JROTC is still availabe as an elective, but now those students will have to add a pe class for their credit, bfd. A true conservative knows the conservative path is more difficult to travel than the liberal one, so they don't whine and cry about it because they know the end result is worth the greater efforts. You don't like how the government and school board function in your town, then change them. If you can't convince enough people of like mind to effect a change, then you are left with two options, 1) move, or 2) stay put, but know if you choose 2, you do so at your own discretion and as such, you won't find a whole lot of sympathy on boards like FReeRepublic. In other words, you will have made the choice to live in hell, and we don't want to hear you bitching about how hot it is.

Ethnic studies, right next to the Learn about Islam class with prayer rugs.
Try to take sex-ed out and see what happens.
I hate to say I agree with you. The Bay area is beautiful.
To top what you said, if terrorists - or another 8.0 - hits the Bay Area, they’d better have their Rainbow Brigade up and ready because I doubt that the military will have any enthusiasm about coming to their aid.
No, JROTC was an elective but not a substitute for P.E. in our school district
Flame you?
No, I’m not trying to flame you. What I am doing is telling you that I don’t understand the nonsensical gibberish you wrote that was obviously supposed to be an insult directed towards me. The only problem is that when attempting to insult someone it is usually better to do so in a comprehensible manner, and not with words or grammar that are completely indecipherable.
