Barack's Bounce (Newsweek poll: Obama 51%, McCain 36%)(LINK to full poll internals)
Newsweek ^ | June 20, 2008 | Michael Hirsh

Posted on 06/20/2008 9:12:15 PM PDT by FocusNexus

Obama's current lead also reflects the large party-identification advantage the Democrats now enjoy - 55 percent of all voters call themselves Democrats or say they lean toward the party while just 36 percent call themselves Republicans or lean that way.

Obama's personal ratings have improved, as well: 62 percent of voters overall say they have a favorable opinion of him compared to only 26 percent who have an unfavorable opinion. By comparison, McCain's ratings are 49 percent favorable to 37 percent unfavorable, representing a drop from his previous 54 percent favorable rating.

Obama is trusted more to handle what may prove the biggest issue of the 2008 election - the economy and jobs - by a wide margin (54 percent to 29 percent). He also has a sizable advantage on energy policy, 48 percent to 34 percent, despite McCain's attempts this week to turn voters his way by supporting some new oil drilling and renewing his call for a gas-tax holiday. Voters do not lean as strongly to Obama on the issue of the Iraq War, but he is still preferred over McCain by 46 percent to 40 percent.

It’s a no-brainer. The only weakness is with those voters who refuse to admit they lost and suck it up and do what’s best.

I wonder, have you ever found that method of communication to be effective?

We are presented with the worst Republican Candidate ever for President and all you can do is act like a 4th grader when you try to communicate to actual conservatives?

Good luck with that method of communication.

Don't believe me about my assessment of McCain?

Then why don't you actually research his record, I did:

1. Gang of Fourteen (Kept some of President Bush’s best judges from being presented for a vote) See here and here
2. McCain-Fiengold (Assault on Free Speech and Pro-Life
3. McCain-Kennedy (Amnesty for criminal Illegal Aliens)
4. McCain-Lieberman (50 cents a gallon tax)
5. Total support for global warming scam, including the Carbon Cap-and-Trade system. See Here
6. Support for embryonic stem cell research (Murder of unborn babies).
7. Wants to moderate or soften the Pro-Life plank of the GOP Platform. See Here and Here and Here.
8. Has flip-flopped on overturning Roe vs. Wade.
9. Wants to close Gitmo and give Terrorists access to our legal system.
10. F grade from Gun-Owners of America.
11. C grade from NRA.
12. 65% score from American Conservative Union in 2006
13. Wants to bail out sub-prime losers (many of which are either illegal aliens or lied on thier applications) with US tax money.
14. Voted against President Bush’s tax cuts (called them tax-cuts for the rich)
15. Flirted with the idea of crossing over to the Dems in 2004.
16. Wants to implement a socialist Health Care proposal that includes providing tax-coffer monies (your tax dollars) to the states to provide Health Care Insurance for those who either refuse to pay for it, or are unable to afford it (mostly illegal aliens).
17. Divorced his wife after he got back from Vietnam. The same woman who remained true to him and raised his kids while he was imprisoned.
18. Refuses to drill in ANWR. See here and here
19. Agrees with Democrats that our Foreign Policy has been arrogant and we need to be more humble.
20. Thinks and states that Pharmaceutical companies are evil
21. Has accepted funding from Soros and Teresa Heinz-Kerry for his institute
22. John McCain's Top 10 Class-Warfare Arguments Against Tax Cuts
23. "I think the Democrat Party is a fine and I have no problems with it, in their views and philosophy"
24. Strongly against Same Sex Marriage Ban Constitutional Amendment
25. Voted for Pro-Abortion Bill and Here.
26. Voted against bill that would impose sanctions against foreign governments and companies that invest more than $20 million in Iran's energy sector until the president certified to Congress that Iran had dismantled its weapons of mass destruction Here and Here
27. Voted against repealing the death tax.
28. McCain-Edwards-Kennedy    (Many Democrat inspired bad rules included in this monstrosity)

Ras has them only 4 percentage points apart.

That's why this poll is ridiculous. This only has the ability to register numbers that are unbelievably lopsided swings/results compared to a majority of other polls due to the use of "adults" as the main criteria. Of course generally 1 in 2 eligible voters vote so instantly you have an amazing amount of variability that is unjustified when the group polled is "adults".

At the same time it has become clear that the constant legitimacy placed on polling outfits such as Newsweek is an assault on legitimate polling. The only fix would be to have a verification of those polled for proof of actual registration, party affiliation, ethnicity, gender etc. Otherwise the skewing of polls is guaranteed to be swung by the uninformed, the false-claimers and the numbers of both that don't actually vote. Newsweek is so blatantly biased that they have no compunction to look like polling amatuers when if anything they are pros at creating biased, lopsided results and always get a pass because enough waiting rooms still stock their rag.

I expect the “real conservatives” will do as they always do - make the best choice available for their country.

I expect the cry-babies to continue calling me a “fourth-grader” until election day.

If you intend to stay home, tell me now so I can find someone to sign up and replace your sorry butt.

LOL. The AOL Straw Poll shows McCain beating Obama (a.k.a. The Teleprompter Kid) 63% to 37%.

No intentions of staying home. I will do everything in my power to make sure that RINO losers like McCain do not take over the GOP and destroy it.

I will be voting and writing in the name of a conservative for President and voting for any actual Republicans in down-stream races.

You sell your soul, McCain is a hill too far, a fake Republican whose positions on the issues and his plans for Amnesty spell doom for conservatives, the GOP, and this country.

And it is people like you, willing to sell out their principles for short-term gain without any concern for the long-term health of the GOP, conservatism, and this country whose "sorry butts" we need to replace in our party.

“poll-manipulation alert”

More importantly, take a look at how many of the “Obama Landslide!” polls are heavily UNDERSAMPLING Seniors in comparison to thier historic voting pattern.

One PPP poll I saw had 18-24’s as 24% (Historicly about 8-10%) and SENIORS as only 14%!!!

If it was your party, your candidate would be running. I’ll find someone to replace you.

The only reason your candidate is the nominee, is that Democrats and Independents (just another name for Democrats) crossed over in the open primaries to vote for him.

He won with nothing more thatn 35% of the GOP vote while candidates 6 or so other candidates who could actually lay claim to being at least somewhat conservative and actual Republicans split the rest of the vote.

McCain is a turd of a candidate and if you had a conservative bone in your body, you'd be at least honest about it.

All actual conservatives who hold their nose and vote for McAmnesty will regret it within the first 6 months as he happily signs an amnesty bill and a Carbon cap and trade bill that will be happily served up by the Marxist Democrat controlled house and senate.

After he signs those two bills, you won't be able to elect a GOP President for decades to come.

Hey, but he's got an R next to his name so that makes it Okay, right?

“The only reason your candidate is the nominee”

My candidate was Fred Thompson.

“Hey, but he’s got an R next to his name so that makes it Okay, right?”

Nope. Just better than the guy with the D.

Meaningless. In the month of June Dukakis was even further ahead of George Bush, and Jimmy Carter was blowing Reagan away.

This isn’t about the GOP. It’s about what’s best for America.

The war in Iraq isn’t going to wait until the GOP gets its act together. A Democrat Congress isn’t going to wait until 2012 to raise taxes.

Conservatives who vote against McCain are hoping the country goes to hell in the next four years. That way, conservatives will become enraged and unify. That, my friends, betrays the movement more than John McCain ever could.
