I was told that if Muslims find themselves in a position in which Jerusalem was between them & Makkah, they should pray to Jerusalem, but I’ve never actually seen a Muslim do this, so I don’t know.

But I thought Muslims were a peaceful, loving religion, just like Christians.

I wonder how many of the 1.5 billion Muslims are willing to be slaughtered to settle the matter?

The Jews owned it first. Muzzies stole it.

The Hebrews captured it from the Philistines.
The Babylonians captured it from the Hebrews.
The Persians liberated the Hebrews and allowed them to return to the area.
Alexander the Great conquered the area and the Greeks held it until 165 BC.
There was a brief revival of Hebrew sovereignty from 165-63 BC.
The Romans conquered the area in 63 BC.
The Jewish Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed after the Great Jewish Revolt 73 AD
The Romans lost control around 330 AD as their empire disintegrated
The Greeks returned to control during the period 330-638 AD
The Arab Caliphate controlled the area from 638-1099 AD
Popes launched nine crusades and "Crusaders" held Jerusalem on and off from 1099-1244
Saladin captured Jerusalem in 1244 and held it until 1250
The Mamluks from Egypt held the area from 1250-1517.
The Ottoman Empire held the area from 1517-1917.
The British held the area as a madate from 1917-1948.
The State of Israel was founded in 1948 and holds the area to the present day.

One look at this miserable history makes me wish all the parties in the area would consider an entirely new approach.

Si vis pacem, para pacem

The Jews had their chance in 1967 when they retook Jerusalem neighborhoods and the Temple Mount. That was when the Muslims eyesores should have been dynamited and bulldozed.Islam obliterated from the Temple Mount

The funny thing is no one would have cared at all.

because the Jewish icons were there BEFORE Mohammad was born in 570 CE

Not to quible, but there were no "icons" - the etymology of the word proves that such would be the opposite. No idols, no "icons." Only a building, furnature, and the Dwelling Presence of the Almighty.

I’ve alway understood that the C.E. designation is the new PC way to express dates.

"AD" indicates poor dating. Once it became clear that the birth of Jesus was better dated from 6-4 BCE, the whole "AD" thing was off anyway. Even Christian scholars use CE and BCE because they reflect simply a common benchmark, rather than the dating of the birth of Jesus.

The Hebrews captured it from the Philistines.

Your Bible knowledge and your history is off. The Philistines were mainly coastal. They never owned any part of Jerusalem. The Jebusites had a city south of the present Temple Mount. Regardless, the Bible says that the Temple Mount was purchased by King David. It was not captured. It was bought for.

There are three sites in Israel where Scripture makes clear that a legal land purchase took place: Where the Patriarchs are buried, where Joseph is buried, and the Temple Mount. Ironically, all three are off limits to Jews today.

the Bible says that the Temple Mount was purchased by King David. It was not captured. It was bought for.

2 Samuel 7: Nevertheless, David took the stronghold of Zion, that is, the city of David.

Says here that he "took" it. You're right about the Jebusites, although there's mention of a Philistine attack on David shortly after he takes Jerusalem. Could be confused chronology.

I couldn't find mention of David paying the Jebusites. Kindly provide the citation.

Either way, my point was simply that Jerusalem has been the center of endless warfare, bloodshed and death. Killing only leads to more killing. Time to try something new.

I don’t use AD because it implies that the time before Jesus was a time before God. I believe that God is eternal. Therefore, the use of AD is in bad form.

“because they reflect simply a common benchmark, rather than the dating of the birth of Jesus.”

Like I said PC.

I have never heard a scholar use CE or BCE who didn’t have an agenda to promote. The Bible warns us of false teachers.

This rewrite of dating is just a further attempt to diminish religions, especially Christianity.

Though I will say, it is pretty much accepted that A.D. is off by about for years. Which way, I do not recall.

In Islamic tradition, the Isra and Mi'raj (Arabic: الإسراء والمعراج‎, al-’Isrā’ wal-Mi‘rāğ) are the two parts of a journey that Muhammad took in one night, in 621 AD (1 BH).[1] Many Muslims consider it a physical journey but some Islamic scholars consider it a dream.[2] A brief sketch of the story is in verses 1 and 60 of one of the Qur'an chapters (#17: sura al isra), and other details were filled in from the supplemental writings, the hadith.

The Isra begins with Muhammad resting in the Kaaba in Mecca, when the archangel Gabriel comes to him, and brings him the winged steed Buraq, who carries Muhammad to the "farthest mosque". The location of this mosque was not explicitly stated in the Qur'an, but is traditionally considered to be the Noble Sanctuary (Temple Mount) in Jerusalem. There, Muhammad alights, tethers Buraq, and leads other prophets in prayer. He then gets back on Buraq, and in the second part of the journey, the Mi'raj, is taken to the heavens, where he tours the circles of heaven, and speaks with the earlier prophets, and with Allah. Allah tells him to enjoin the Muslims to pray fifty times a day; however, Moses tells Muhammad that they would never do it, and urges Muhammad to go back several times and ask for a reduction, until finally it is reduced to five times a day.

After Muhammad returned to Earth and tells his story in Mecca, the unbelieving townspeople regard it as absurd. Some go to Muhammad's companion Abu Bakr and tell him, "Look at what your companion is saying. He says he went to Jerusalem and came back in one night." Abu Bakr in reply, tells them, "If he said that, then he is truthful. I believe him concerning the news of the heavens — that an angel descends to him from the heavens. How could I not believe he went to Jerusalem and came back in a short period of time — when these are on earth?" It was for this that Abu Bakr is said to have received his famous title "Us-Siddiq", The Truthful.

The story is celebrated each year via a festival primarily for children, the Lailat al Miraj. Muslims bring their children to the mosques, where the children are told the story, allowed to pray with the adults, and then afterwards food and treats are served.

Hey! Thanks for looking that up ... Buraq, so when is the MSM going to pick that one up? Too funny .... so Burak Obama was named after an Islamic horse (??)

The Muslim world was very weak in 1967 and even the left wing and liberals loved Israel when it won wars. In the chaos and triumphant celebration of the 1967 war no one would have noticed or done a damn thing if the Islamic mosques on the Temple Mount were blown up and carted to the landfill. A fait acompli and Muslims would just have to live with it
