I guess its time for the U.S. to be called on once again to do a massive relief air drop., Gosh, I am really torn in my response to this ongoing idea that the United States of America is the only country on earth that can save/help/rescue or respond to emergencies. We're expected to be Rescue Angels one minute and the Great Satan the next. We are a little busy right now dealing with talibans and nation building. One would think that the rest of the world could deal with a tinpan dictatorship murdering its' own people in a country the size of Texas!

“Since we are fighting a war in two countries, can the other 200 worthless countries in the UN(other than our active allies)do someting?”
Yes, they can get together and complain that the US is not helping enough.

WFP's chief spokeswoman in North America, Bettina Luescher, said at a news conference that the agency "did not have access" to the supplies and didn't know where they were. Sounds eerily familiar to;
Wind Fall Profit's chief tax spokeswimmen in the US Congress "no longer had access" to the billions of dollars in shakedowns, and don't know where the freshly absconded corporate taxes, the joint UN/US administrators, or their husbands were.

ADRA International have been in Burma for many years and is being allowed to distribute the little food and aid they can to the people.

I’m surprised the UN isn’t making deals with the Dictators to benefit themselves.

If the government of Burma doesn't want our help, screw them. We, the United States and the Bush administration will probably get blamed for causing the storm their country anyways. The United Nations will most likely drop the ball on this situation just like they have other times before and I'm sure in the future. The United States just needs to hold on to the money and the supplies for when we get hit by a disaster. Help ourselves first and all others if we can. The US gives too much money to other countries in foreign aid and we need to stop.

This is typical of countries that hoard international aid even when there is no disaster, letting their people starve. The thing that makes this worse is that because of the disaster, people who were probably able to scrape out a marginal existence can no longer do so and will most likely die because of it. Although I believe in helping others, I think that we should not provide aid (any type) if it is not going for the intended victims. Sorry to be so blunt, but if that is the case, aid not received won’t make a difference. People will still die because of their government keeping and hoarding food, medicine, etc.
