TUCSON - Some surprising news came from the United States Border Patrol.
The Patrol has purchased 1,000 guns that fire non-lethal paintball or pepper pellets. The goal of a target practice session was to hit the white rag at the end of a hall with paintballs. Border Patrol agents may soon use paintballs to defend themselves against smugglers along the border due to an increase in violence.
Surveillance video from an incident last year in El Paso shows a Border Patrol agent retreating after people pelt him with rocks. Some could argue the same about being hit by a paintball without protective gear, where a projectile from a paintball gun leaves a small welt on the flesh.
Small welt or not, human rights activists say it is a bad idea, even for a line of defense.

A straw, a straight pin, and a little scotch tape and I can make a wicked blow dart. It will strike fear into all those illegal border crossers, I'm sure.
Better than that would be 'pistols' whittled from pine. Each agent could whittle his or her own. Point the 'pistol' and shout "BANG."
Can anyone advise whether a paintball marker gun is a good way to deter deer? They make themselves at home in the yard, and destroy expensive landscaping.
While tasty, and easy to shoot, I don’t want to go to prison for poaching.
But I’d also like to know the most potent and powerful paint-ball gun there is, so I could send a real message through that deerskin armor they wear.
Would a rib shot be most effective? (I considered less-than lethal rubber shotgun slugs, but they are expensive, and the noise would alarm the neighbors.)
Who we really should shoot with real guns will be withheld.
Why not water pistols? Or maybe have the agents try to reason with the scum to please go back?

I missed that episode. Lemme guess: Dwight goes absolutely paintball postal and wails on female co-workers and Michael.

And of course, the whiny "human rights activists" have to cry that it's inhumane.
Until the Secret Service begins guarding the POTUS, cabinet members and members of congress with paintball guns, this remains UNACCEPTABLE.
How in hades do we put up with these attacks on our agents?
I wouldn’t know about the deer. Not my city-dwelling expertise—although I get ‘em in my yard from time to time.

I like the idea! A 10 gauge shotgun. A paintball, followed by a hand full of buckshot should work well. You can get a lot of stuff into a 10 gauge shell.
What next? Squirt guns?
I think it was when Dwight gave Michael the paintballs and 2 free lessons for a Christmas present. They added a clip of him shooting at a target and yelling out “take that Saddam!”
The paintball guns are a slight improvement over what we had as kids when we’d play army:
(pointing gun made out of fingers) “I shot you...you’re dead!”
“Did not”
“Did Too”
“Nah uh”
“Uh huh”
“Did So”
“No you didn’t, I shot you first”
“Did not”
“Did Too”
...etc....
Shooting drug dealers with paint balls is humiliating..

Johnny Sutton will be all over the first BP agent that puts out an illegal’s eye with one of those things.
Personally, I’d make them sit in the Comfy Chair.
