Ohio Hospital is Hillary's New Bosnia
Radar On Line -- Fresh Intelligence ^ | 4/07/2008 | Neel Shah

Posted on 04/07/2008 6:35:36 PM PDT by ex-Texan

On Saturday, the New York Times reported that a sob story Clinton had been repeating on the campaign trail—that of an uninsured pregnant lady who lost her baby and died herself after she couldn't pay $100 for treatment in an Ohio hospital—is not true and was never even checked for authenticity. Just as troubling, though, is that the events as Clinton's team tells them are actually illegal, which Hillary, as architect of the $110 billion "American Health Choices Plan," should presumably know.

A spokesperson for the Ohio Hospital Association tells Radar that "Federal law requires that hospitals treat patients in an emergency situation regardless of whether or not they can pay." The spokesperson adds that, "[A]ccording to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, a woman who was pregnant and complaining of difficulty with her pregnancy would at the least be brought in and screened in the emergency department. She definitely would not be turned away because she didn't have $100."

In Clinton's fable, a lady is turned away from a hospital twice after complaining of pregnancy complications. She is finally admitted on the third go-around, but neither she nor the baby can be saved.

The chief executive at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio, where the incident occurred, has already issued a statement asking Clinton to "immediately desist from repeating the story." A spokesperson for the hospital said Clinton's camp never got in touch regarding the course of events.

Clinton's spokesperson said an attempt was made to vet the story (we don't know what constitutes an "attempt" given that no phone call was ever made), but that "if the hospital claims it did not happen that way, we respect that." Clinton only decided to tell the story after hearing it from an Ohio sheriff, who himself heard it secondhand last August from some "close relatives" to Trina Bachtel, the woman in question. In short, Clinton is apparently basing the talking points of her purported area of expertise on intel gleaned from a game of telephone.

According to one Clinton insider, the slip-up is indicative of larger problems that have plagued Hillary. "Winning campaigns just don't make mistakes like that—or rather to the point, they don't get caught," the source tells Radar. "It's a small gaffe that points to bigger issues."

You'd sort of expect Hillary to know these things, rather than passing off the story as representative of some shortcoming in America's health care system. But then again, she did hear it from a local sheriff who heard it secondhand from the relatives of the actual victim.

The Witch got caught lying again. In a flagrant, calculated lie intended to bolster her position on universal health care. It is not just a 'small gaffe.' It was a pratfall made repeatedly in stump speeches all across America. This sob story sound bite was all over the news locally. Talking air heads were almost wiping tears out of their eyes: 'Boo Hoo, Oh, sob, sob. Sniff sniff.'

The Witch makes liars out thousands of news readers nation wide every time she opens her mouth. Frankly, she was much more eloquent when she broke wind in that ABC debate several months ago.

I am getting so sick of politicians just spouting off. The Beast said she “tried to vet” the story first but couldn’t do so fully. Well then, shut up about it until you get the facts. Many politicians just spout off knowing full well they are not telling the truth. It muddies the water so much that many things can’t ever get solved. I wish there was some way this hospital could sue for defamation.

Here’s the point.

When the Media decides who will win, they don’t LET them get caught.

Hillary’s “bigger issue” is that the Media isn’t drinking her koolaid anymore.

Bingo.

Obama has been no slacker in the lying/coverup department, but the media's letting him get away with it.

They think they can play the kingmakers in this election.

Only question is, is the internet/blogosphere sufficiently influential to keep them from doing it?

From a CNN story on April 6:

In the speech, Clinton said the woman later was taken to the hospital by ambulance and lost the baby. The young woman was then taken by helicopter to a Columbus hospital where she died of complications.

That's right, folks.

The hospital wouldn't take her without $100, but an ambulance AND a helicopter would transport her, presumably for free.

Right.

The good part about this continuing situation with Hillary (lying out loud), is that she's falling so hard, fast and far that she's becoming a liability to even get on the ticket with Obama.

She could raise a lot of money for the him through the campaign, the general campaign is going to be more than about money. She's now a BIG LIABILITY for him, and he would be a fool to pick her as a VP candidate.

She's been begging for that for the last two months, and I was afraid he would take her as a VP on his ticket. I'm not so sure it would be good for him to do that now, compared to a Richardson (Latino vote), or Nelson (Florida vote).

Well, Hill's Deputy appears... to work for a Sheriff’s Department that does not require truth telling as a requirement to serve. But they sure do appear to require eating donuts by the dozen!

"I wish there was some way this hospital could sue for defamation."

The hospital should sue her- they have every right to. Hey Hillary, here's a TRUE hospital neglect story you could run with: Have you heard the story about Christin Gilbert, a young woman who died in 2005 from a botched abortion in her 28th week of pregnancy by the abortionist George R. Tiller in his Wichita Kansas hack-shack? Read Christin's story at: Link to JusticeforChristin.com The doctor and hospital were clearly negligent, but thanks to corruption in the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts and a deliberate lack of coverage from the media when the case was open, the case was dropped against this Dr. Tiller, abortionist extraordinare. Dr. Tiller continues to be a leading killer of unborn babies and occassional women in his "hospital".

So Hillary, you need to discuss this case of Christin Gilbert, and you need to demand justice for her and her unborn baby.

Look - the facts in these stories are not important. What’s important is the intent to which they are told. This story illustrates the plight of this nation’s billions of uninsured single mothers and how Hillary understands that plight. Ok? So, let the candidate have her hyperbole and stop being such a meanie!

that woman never knows what is going on inside her own house and her own campaign. She always falls back on that “I wasn’t aware of it” or “I didn’t know anything about it” or “Not to my recollection, etc.” She can’t remember squat so how does she expect us to believe she can run a country???? What an I-D-I-O-T

Hope you're joking, because Hillary only cares about their plight when it helps her politically. She has very little humanity in her, sad to say. But most of these uninsured single mothers are in these difficult situations because of ill-thought-out, self-inflicted actions. Their children, or the unborn who they choose to abort are the real victims. We have plenty of assistance in our country for needy women and their families, but when perfectly capable women don't take responsibility and would rather play victim, beholden to liberals for their ongoing care, that's the problem.
