Talking publicly
about massacres is just
God's way of pointing

His finger at you
and saying, "This guy's too dumb
to be owning guns!"

I'm completely shocked the words "assault weapon" didn't make it into the article.

Someone is slipping up big time

Fox News said the suspect claimed to a firearms dealer and shown not to be the case.

Another person who’s criminally insane out on bail.

Give him some meds and he won’t even need to be observed. < /sarc >

FOX news did a segment on this and claimed that he had armor-piercing rounds (assuming 7.62x39 steel-core commie) that "can take out a military tank" and a "100-round feeding clip designed to bring down planes".

They did include the loophole, but this time it is that you can apparently buy guns over the internet and go around dealers and gun shows. Hey, the police chief says so, it must be true. Chief says this case will be the time we finally have a national talk about the availability of guns in this country.

I know of no 7.62round that can take out a tank unless you count shooting the driver.

I saw the Fox News segment also. I had to chuckle at the last part about "100-round feeding clip designed to bring down planes"

I'm not an expert on ammo and how clips are designed for what purposes, but I highly doubt that clip was designed to shot down planes

Dont try to inject reality when an antigunner is on a roll.

Not only will a single AP round take out a tank at a range of over one mile, they’ll make refineries and LNG storage tanks explode with twelve times the force of Hiroshima.

It just sounds so sensational to infer that this mediocre gun collection can take out battle tanks and bring down airplanes. Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!

There are a lot of people out there that don't know any better, and they will be horrified to think that you can buy such tank and plane killers.

Just like all the hype about the empty grenade launcher tube cops found elsewhere in Florida. They didn't have any grenades for it. There haven't been any grenades for it since WWII. But the cops were ecstatic.

I wonder if the internet post was real or faked.

It’s not uncommon for “an anonymous tip” to be called into the dispacther by a patrolman using a pay phone. Then the car gets sent to “investigate” the tip, so it’s never known that he primary data was collected illegally.

Of course for this guy even if the internet evidence is not real, he wil never get his arsenal with the Flight 800 Assault Rifle back.

Sounds like a belt fed 50 cal. (except for taking out tanks)

What kills me whenever something happens like this is that of course we should be concerned about a teenager who threatens to commit a massacre, but the news media never demands to know why the kid was upset or demands better mental healthcare or checks out the school or the internet site, they just go straight for the guns.

Focus on the guns, availability of guns, availability of ammo, imaginary destructive power. Where did he get the guns? HOW did he get the guns? My God, 5000 rounds of ammo is more than a journalist can picture...it must take a super Wal-Mart to hold that much. How did we allow these purchases to happen? AK-47s! They are much more powerful than any other gun, you know, and they spray bullets, bringing down planes and tanks. The cops are outgunned. Drag out the tired old antigun police chief. Gotta do something. Do something before it's too late.

Good grief, the problem here is that a teenager was angry and made a threat. Where is the journalistic frenzy over teenage angst? Dark teenage web sites?

What is most worrisome is that if this teenager's gun collection itself becomes defined as psychotic and abnormal, instead of the person himself, and the mere possession of a few rifles and rounds becomes probable cause for arrest, who among us will not be in trouble?

I’m surprised they didn’t add cop killing bullets to this story as well.
