Note to Serbs, this American had absolutely nothing to do with it.
Bump for a later read.
“The United States is supporting Kosovan independence in the belief that the Kosovan people, who are mostly Muslim, support America...”
Where do supposedly serious writers get such notions?
I don’t think many Americans are under any illusions about Kosovo. The U.S.’s recognition of Kosovo ratified the existing situation in the region—the de facto Kosovo independence—and in no way showed any happiness about the creation of another Muslim-majority nation in Europe.
Short of sending in the Marines to kill Kosovars, what practical step could America (or Great Britain) do to stop Kosovo from becoming independent?
Supporting Kosova's independence was the right call. As has been mentioned, there's no more threat of jihadists there than already exists in Albania.

The West is becoming Serbia..
Kosovo has brough a new paradigm into the concept of declaring independence. According to Kosovo experience, foreigners can infiltrate a country - such as Mexicans are doing to us with the blessing of McCain, Kennedy, etc. - and when they are a majority they can separate by declaring "independence." Will Washington recognize the new nation of Atzlan once the border states demand to separate from US?
“The West will live to regret its betrayal of the Serbs”
I’ve an open mind on the topic of “what went wrong in post-Communism
Yugoslavia/Balkans”.
Please find below an amazon.com link to an interesting book on the
subject that I’ve just started reading (on this very day!)
Unholy Terror: Bosnia, Al-Qa’ida, and the Rise of Global Jihad
by John R. Schindler
Yep, another consequence of the Clintons and Democrats persecuting Serb Christians.
