Where do supposedly serious writers get such notions?
I don’t think many Americans are under any illusions about Kosovo. The U.S.’s recognition of Kosovo ratified the existing situation in the region—the de facto Kosovo independence—and in no way showed any happiness about the creation of another Muslim-majority nation in Europe.
Short of sending in the Marines to kill Kosovars, what practical step could America (or Great Britain) do to stop Kosovo from becoming independent?
