Report: Student Kills Self in Front of 150 Classmates at Alabama High School

An Alabama high school student walked into the school gym Thursday morning and shot himself in front of 150 other students, WKRG.com reported.

Jajuan Homes, 18, reportedly fired one shot into the ceiling of the gym at Davidson High School in Mobile before turning the revolver on himself as other students watched.

It’s just a good thing that he didn’t slaughter most of them first. It would have been like shooting fish in a barrel.

I’m so glad for that. OTOH, he knew they’d all have to live with what the saw for the rest of their lives and that it would torment them. He got the most mileage he could out of it.

Very sad, obviously a cry for attention. Its good he didn’t take anyone with him but its still very sad.

Sounds like the kid was just really depressed - he didn’t want to hurt anyone else. My guess is he was a loner who everyone ignored, and he wanted them to notice him just at least once. It’s very sad.

I doubt he was thinking of the impact it would have on them. Suicide tends to be done for selfish reasons.

IMO he was more likely just wanting to be noticed.

The vision of a GSW to the head (if that’s where he shot himself) will stay with those kids for the rest of their lives. Remember the footage of the S. Vietnamese officer shooting a VC in the right temple with his .38 snubby. That was around 40 years ago.
