Group tied to al-Qaida backs McCain for prez

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain has enjoyed strong support from a lobbyist group that backs the Kosovo Liberation Army despite allegations the KLA is a Muslim terrorist group with ties to criminal drug networks and al-Qaida.

The Albanian American Civic League, or AACL, regards the KLA as "freedom fighters," said the AACL's president, former Republican congressman Joe DioGuardi of New York.

They're "not terrorist, like the Serbs and Greeks say," DioGuardi insisted in an interview with WND.

But Islam expert Robert Spencer, editor of the popular website Jihad Watch, contends radical Islam is the driving force behind the Kosovo independence movement.

"There is no excusing the excesses of the Serbs under (former President Slobodan) Milosevic, but there is no denying also that jihadists have been pouring into Bosnia and Kosovo, preparing to use them as a base for jihad activity in Europe – and we have been helping them," Spencer told WND.

Spencer explained that the KLA is directly linked to the Kosovo independence movement.

"When Kosovo independence was declared, thousands of Kosovars gathered in Pristina and chanted, 'KLA!' 'KLA!' Spencer noted. "This was a telling indication of the broad popular support the KLA enjoys."

KLA members, however, continued Spencer, were trained in al-Qaida camps.

"There is little doubt that there are powerful elements in Kosovo who are Islamic supremacist and pro-Sharia (Islamic law)," he said. "They will do all they can to turn Kosovo into a jihadist camp in the heart of Europe."

Spencer pointed out Kosovo is about 90 percent Muslim, and the independence movement has grown by incorporating Albanian Muslims as members and supporters.

In April 1999, McCain and Sen. Joe Lieberman, D-Conn., co-sponsored the "Kosovo Self-Defense Act" with the goal of arming the KLA in their battle against the Serbs.

McCain working with a flaming Socialist like Lieberman to help Islamic terrorists pretty much tells you all you need to know about McCain and the movement of the GOP to the Socialist left.

History shows that US politicians always provide aid and arms to our next opponent prior to the start of a large scale military conflict.

the idiotic arming and support of Kosovo is the latest example.

If the democrat nominee does not turn the Kosovo debacle against McCain it will be because they have enough on him to win without it.

I can not see how the Senator Obama can bring this up in the campaign without exposing the fact that it was a Democratic Administration which both developed and pursued this policy for 8 years under Bill Clinton.

You can not hang this on McCain. He is the only Candidate in this race who has a record, spanning decades, as a proponent for a strong national defense policy against all of our enemies (Communists and Islamofacists).

Well, I don't think we will hear much from Hillary or Wesley Clark on this issue.

Ratko Mladic was Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic's army chief throughout the Bosnian war. After Serb forces heavily bombarded the UN-protected town of Srebenica, Mladic entered the town with his troops, where he proceeded to separate Bosnian Muslim women and children from all the men aged 12 to 72. The women and children were taken to Muslim territory. The men, over 7,000 of them, were executed by Serbian forces over the next five days and buried in mass graves.

You can't deny McCain aligned himself with the Socialist Democrat party by favoring legislation that aided Islamic terrorists. He is as much to blame as the GOP elite for not stopping support for our enemy.

He is the only Candidate in this race who has a record, spanning decades, as a proponent for a strong national defense policy against all of our enemies (Communists and Islamofacists).

The parameters you use to classify McCain as strong on national defense leave a lot to be desired. The WOT is integral to our national defense. It is not a problem only in Afghanistan and Iraq. It is a global problem including our borders. It is a fact terrorists have posed and are posing as illegal aliens to enter the country and destroy us from the inside. Despite that fact John McCain supports granting amnesty to illegal aliens. This thinking endangers Americans and makes a mockery of our national defense.

McCain for a strong defense against communists?????????????? He’s the biggest supporter of the Pathet Lao DC has ever seen. He gets paid well to work for the KLA terrorists; he does it for free for the genocidal Pathet Lao.

Dems are very unconfortable with KOSOVO and can’t in anyway attack the republican candidate about it since B.Clintoon himself launched the bombing of Serbia.
The dems are the first responsible for that mess and McCain has nothing to fear on this...

OK! your points are very well thought out. But elections come down to making choices. GW Bush is done. Thompson and Hunter are out of the race. Ronald Reagan is with his maker.

Given that the WOT is the most important challenge we face in the Twenty First Century, which candidate of the remaining three or four is the best fit for Commander in Chief?

GW Bush is done. Thompson and Hunter are out of the race.

Ceding your Conservative principles in the name of compromise to support a candidate who has sided with the Socialist Democrats solely for the sake of winning an election only advances the Socialist cause. It is a loser strategy as evident by the Socialist Democrats taking control of Congress in 2006. The clear answer is to hold to Conservative principles by writing in a Conservative candidate or voting for one from another party.

Given that the WOT is the most important challenge we face in the Twenty First Century, which candidate of the remaining three or four is the best fit for Commander in Chief?

That's exactly my point! None are the "best fit" because they all support amnesty for illegal aliens! Allowing illegals to stay in this country will be our downfall! You need to look past the "R" or "D" after a candidate's name and examine their political ideology. In doing so you would realize McCain, Obama and Clinton are all Socialists!

The winner of this election will probably appoint at least one new US Supreme Court Justice. He will also make decisions about the next step in the WOT.

Do you really want it to be Senator Obama or Senator Clinton? Because if you write in a candidate, that is exactly what you will get.

It is not just wining a election that counts. It is willing the internal cultural war going on in this country as well as the WOT. In 10 years of a Democrat in the White House, you will not recognize this country.

People say that McCain is the same as the two remaining Democrats in the campaign. I don't agree while you do.

Good luck with your write in choice and God bless the USA.

You can not hang this on McCain

No, you can't.

But he has played a part in it by jumping in on the side of a muslim guerilla movement warring to oust a legitimate, recognized governmment.
I don't imagine he would think much of anyone who helped arm a guerilla movement that decided to take over Arizona and declare it an independent nation.

KLA =

Kosovo Liberation Army or KLA (Albanian: Ushtria Çlirimtare e Kosovës or UÇK) was [is] an Albanian paramilitary guerrilla organization which sought independence for the province of Kosovo from Yugoslavia and Serbia in the late 1990s.
The KLA has been called "the most successful guerrilla movement of modern times."[1] Its campaign against Serbian security forces precipitated a major Yugoslav military crackdown which led to the Kosovo War of 1998-1999.

FTA:

In April 1999, McCain and Sen. Joe Lieberman, D-Conn., co-sponsored the "Kosovo Self-Defense Act" with the goal of arming the KLA in their battle against the Serbs.

Both parties are culpable.

The infatuation of both with the murdering muslims in Kosovo is inexplicable in light of the post 9/11 rhetoric of them to destroy radical terrorists.

I think the whole thing was just an excercise to poke Russia in the eye. President Clinton went along with the Europeans at the start but I wish Bush had opened his eyes in 2001 and ended the persecution of the Serbs and support of the muslims.

Hillary Clinton and John McCain both have dirty hands on Kosovo. And Barrack Obama would have dirty hands too, if anyone had given him a chance.
