I suspect it's going to be "game over" when they (Obama & McCain) appear together for the very first debate.
As a society/culture, Americans are very visually stimulated.
McCain will prolly walk all over Obama with his answers to the stated questions, but everyones going to be saying 'uh-oh' - we're screwed".
(and praying I'm wrong)
The Obama campaign says it's been hard at work discrediting these rumors. That's not evident. Results aren't discernible.
I don't suppose there are any pictures of Barack Obama saluting the flag, or newspaper accounts of such an event, are there? My lying eyes would like to know.
“Does anyone seriously believe that McCain can beat Obama? At least as things stand today?”
I do, I don’t even think it’ll be that close.
This is why I never understand the appeal of liberals. Is there any democrat who talks about the greatness of America? I've never heard it. It's always how awful and racist and wasteful and greedy and uncaring and imperialistic America is. One of the reasons I liked Reagan so much. He was always so positive on America. I remember one time he responded to a snotty reporter who asked about how terrible America is because there are so many poor people, while only a "few" are rich. Reagan simply said: "I want to make sure that you always CAN get rich in America".
We may have to make accommodation...
And every time I see this, I'm so curious to know what Hitlery & the other woman are so distracted by in the distance. They may have their hands on their hearts, but their minds are elsewhere, I'm sure of it...
Snopes has some:

I get much more up in arms about Obama's stated intent to nationalize health care and immediately implement a phased withdrawal from Iraq that I do about these trite "gotcha" moments that people use to claim special insight into hidden, secret beliefs he has that we should all worry about. You know, as opposed to actual statements that he is GOING TO NATIONALIZE HEALTH CARE...
sigh.
Obama ads appearing on some sites on the Internet. Sciencedaily.com for one. Blitz.
The “poor” in America have cell phones, big screen TVs, DVD players, cable TV, cars, homes, food. Also the largest group of people in America who are obese are “poor”. Go to Africa and you won’t find may overweight poor.
One of my favorite Reagan lines was, “To conservatives, every day is the Fourth of July. To liberals it’s April 15th.”
Rush gets the credit for that.
No one has shown me proof that he converted to Christianity.
:-)
We can all have a slip of the tongue.
However, that was no slip. Michelle Obama said it, not once, but TWICE in TWO DIFFERENT SPEECHES.
Obama is not Muslim. He’s a Unitarian. Unitarians are not Christians.
It's an old joke I'm sure you've heard: Did you hear about the Unitarian Klansman?
He burned a question mark on the black family's lawn.
Well, let me check. Let's see ...... Flip, flip, flip .... Sunday ..... February 24 ......2008 ...... Yep. Here it is......
Rasmussen: 2/24/08 Latest Poll Shows McCain Leading over Both Democrats
So, in the middle of all this Obama worship and in spite of the fact that some FReepers are shaking at the knees at the mere mention of Obama's name, the fact remains that the adults in America are starting to pay attention and, even today, Sunday, February 24, 2008, John McCain is ahead of Obama in the latest poll.
The answer to your question would therefore be "YES! HE CAN!!"
But, if trembling at the feet of the Omnipotent Obama chanting "Resistance is futile" floats your boat, knock yourself out.
Obama scoffed at charges he’s a Muslim by saying he’s been a member of the same Christian church for 20 years. He’s 44. Anyone doing the math?
I've been a member of the same Christian church for 14 years, and I'm 38. I'd scoff at those that believed that proves I converted to Christianity at 24 too.
Just because he goes to the United Church of Christ does not make him a Unitarian. Unitarians don’t have anything to do with that church.
I am a member of the Disciples of Christ church, and it is very close to the United Church of Christ, infact they were founded by the same people. We do not call ourselves Unitarians.
“I don’t suppose there are any pictures of Barack Obama saluting the flag, or newspaper accounts of such an event, are there? My lying eyes would like to know.”
Yes, there are. You have the two videos of him swearing in Congress.
