Pelosi: Don't overrule the voters

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi -- who may be the most super delegate of all as chair of the Democratic national convention in Denver -- gave an interview with Bloomberg TV's Al Hunt in which she laid down the law for super delegates:

Don't veto the people's choice.

"I think there is a concern when the public speaks and there is a counter-decision made to that," she said, adding quickly, "I don't think that will happen."

She said the governors, lawmakers, DNC members and others picked as super delegates are chosen through a grassroots process and are accountable to the party's voters.

"I do think that they have a respect -- it's not just following the returns, it's also having a respect for what has been said by the people," Pelosi said. "It would be a problem for the party if the verdict would be something different than the public has decided."

That message will be music to the ears of Barack Obama, who's building a lead in pledged delegates and is urging the super delegates to follow the voters.

Unless it’s about something that congress in all its infinite wisdom knows is best for them. Like that pesky little amnesty bill.

she laid down the law

Yeah, right, Nancy - the likes of Teddy the K and Walter Mondale really care about what YOU have to say about it.

If Al Gore were alive, he'd really pay attention to YOU, sure thing.

Don’t really trust this statement. These delegates existed before Obama was on the scene...meaning they were intended Hillary delegates. Bet she restates this tomorrow.

Nancy's agenda is simple--she wants to be the lead b*&^h in DC.

:-)

If Obama is elected she may have to settle for being the lead white one.

(Obama's wife, get it?)

:-)

Nancy, you ignorant twit. Your Democrat Party decided on using "Super Delegates" BECAUSE you don't trust "the people!" Why bother having them then? The best thing you can do right now as a Party is to get rid of them NOW!!! PROVE that your Democrat Party truly does want EVERY VOTE TO COUNT!

Nancy LOOOVES the people when they agree with her.
We’re a bunch of ignorant peasants when we don’t.

That’s okay, I’m hoping every “R” running for Congress features her ridiculous sound bites and her fabulous “Vacation in Syria” pix in their campaign.

Pelosi is the top Democrat in the House. Her position is regarded as higher than that of the New Yuck senator. So Pelosi did not want to see Hellary becoming the POTUS.

Lanny Davis said he was instrumental in starting up this super delegate thing back in the 80’s.

I think it was in 84 that these superdelagates were used to get Mondale instead of Hart? Sometimes you get what you want and sometimes you don’t. I bet though no one will leave the plantation if Hillary is awarded the nod.
