The Patriot Guard Riders as a group will not be at Berkeley
Aquakat, PGR web site | 2/12/08 | Aquakat

Posted on 02/12/2008 10:10:57 AM PST by Aquakat

The Patriot Guard Riders as a group will not be at Berkeley, The “PGR” is not a protest organization. I have a need to clarify the numerous incorrect references to The “PGR”.

The “PGR” main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives.

Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.

Shield the mourning family and friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors.

We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means.

The “PGR” also undertake other missions such as welcome homes, send offs to honor active duty military. The “PGR” have missions that honor, protect, and help the families of the fallen. The “PGR” also honor vets, and do charity work that is military orientated or any activities that fall within the above categories.

While you may think a large group of bikers or vets at a protest or political event are The “PGR” they are not. They are individuals doing what they think is the right thing.

Please, be more thoughtful in your posts. Your misconceptions are hurting the effectiveness of the missions that are undertaken. How do I know? I have done the above and talked to families, military, “LEO”s as well as the general public. I am a relatively new non-bike non-vet member of The “PGR”, yes, they accepted me, in fact they embraced me.

Thank you,

I personally appreciate all that your group does and how your group stands up to those who call our brave men and women “murderers”.

God Bless You

GUILTY... I apologize. I have both attended a military funeral at which the Patriot Guard Riders were an awesome sight and suggested PGR be involved in supporting the military in the Berkeley protests.

I stand corrected and best wishes to PGR in continuing its mission. GOD BLESS

There is a thread going about the action in Berkeley.

You should have posted it to the thread, it would do more good there if you concern was that someone said on that thread that the PGR were going to be there.

Here’s the thread, I posted your comment there.

Thanks for clearing that up for those that didn’t know.

I apologize for making the statement that the PGR would be at the Berkeley event.

I actually knew that you guys don’t do events like that, but in the heat of the moment I posted something I heard either on the radio or in a phone call.

I have had that statement removed by management from the thread

Thank you for all you and the rest of the Patriot Guard Riders do for our Military

Again, I apologize.

“I have both attended a military funeral at which the Patriot Guard Riders were an awesome sight”

Why not join us?

You don’t have to ride you don’t have to be a vet. There are no dues, no dress requirements you even don’t have to attend all the missions. All that is asked is that you want to honor the HEROES.

My first meeting with them was on a mission; I was full of doubt and uncertainty, took a deep breath and introduced myself. Everyone and I mean everyone came over and shook my hand and most gave me a hug and call me brother. I protested that I was not a brother(since I was not a vet) and they replied, “You are now”.

Aside from that, I guarantee you that you will receive more than you ever put in. It confuses me that I am thanked; it is truly an “H”onor to be on these missions.

I have done many things and received several honors in my life I must say that this is the best thing that I have ever done (LOL don’t tell my wife)

Enough of this, this thread is about clarification, If you want more information F-mail me.

This is not directed to any one post, there are numerous posts on several threads. I contacted the mod and received permission to put this in braking

Thank you for posting that. I emailed the National Director on this very subject this morning when I saw the post that “we would be there”.

We are not a protest or counter-protest group.

Anything outside of showing honor and respect for the fallen, their families, the troops, veterans is way outside the mission statement. If something happened beyond that it would be an individual doing it on their own and not under the flag of the PGR.

The petition

We, the undersigned condemn the Berkeley City Council’s treasonous attack on US Marine Recruiters stationed in their city. We ask that Congress cut off funds from any and all municipal entity within the confines of the city of Berkeley, California, until such time as the city council withdraws it’s action.

The City Council has voted to tell the Marines their downtown recruiting station is not welcome and “if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome guests.”

The measure passed last week by a vote of 8-1.

The council also voted to explore enforcing a city anti-discrimination law, focusing on the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.

In a separate item, the council voted, also 8-1, to give the Marxist protest group Code Pink a parking space in front of the recruiting office once a week for six months and a free sound permit for protesting once a week.

check out this letter!

Dear Mayor Bates,

In that you and your city have chosen to gravely insult the brave men and women, who have indeed bought you that right with their blood, I am informing you that my company will no longer do business with any of our current suppliers located in the Berkeley, California metro area.

In that my company is in international resort real estate development, and do business with and am associated with, developers and investors worldwide, I am informing all of my contacts, associates and patrons that we will no longer do any business of any sort with anyone living in the Berkeley area.

In that we/MDG Resorts are currently building a state of the art mega-yacht marina, all of the suppliers of Marina equipment, all owners of Yachts , all suppliers of Yacht materials & supplies, all yacht brokers and all tangential yacht business purveyors will likewise be informed that we will not do any business whatsoever with anyone from the Berkeley area.

Likewise all suppliers of building materials, both interior and exterior, currently associated with any of our several resort developments (Brisamar 300+ villas and 200+ condos: Porto Hussong, www.portohussong.com

500+ condos, 180 slip mega-yacht marina) both of which I might add have international recognition by virtue of glowing reports in Robb Report, Wall Street Journal, Yacht World, Forbes.

I will likewise inform all of our investors, most of whom are very wealthy yacht owners, casino owners, high net worth international businessmen, of our decision to essentially boycott all products and providers located in, or associated with in any way whatsoever, Berkeley, Ca.

Trust me when I say that having been in the real estate development business for over 35 years, our list of contacts and associates is long and very, very impressive. We, and I personally, are going to recommend that they ALL along with us boycott your city, its purveyors, suppliers, and businesses and CHARITIES of every kind.

You have every right to choose to take the obnoxious anti-military stance you have taken, and as stated, that right was bought for you with the blood of better men than you.

I too have every right to do all that I can to insure that your city suffers consequences arising from that obnoxious, sickening stance.

Cordially,

Brian G Dennard
