Larsson’s theory that the well-dressed Viking woman’s garment was open at the front and had a train is supported by a gilded bronze figure discovered in the county of Uppsala. She feels that some aspects of the heathen fashion were too much for Christian missionaries.

Ummm...probably the reason that it opened in the front was that mom had to breast feed the kids. And maybe the site of droopy breasts on women who had to breast feed one kid after another wasn't as sexy as the researcher thinks. As for closing the open area, could it be to stop frostbitten nipples?

I, too gave up what had been, up to that time, my favorite hobby, about seven years ago. (I make it a point NOT to count the days or remember the actual date, except that it was the day after my best friend’s funeral.) It’s funny how lying on your back in the hospital for a week bleeding profusely can adjust your attitude.

While it is true that some things that had been problematic corrected themselves, I did acquire a new set of “habits” - posting on the internet being one of them.

Now, instead of calling the local bar to give me the grocery list, my wife simply yells it down to the basement, along with a tag something like “Whenever you’re *through* down there!”

While my ethnic extraction includes Scots, Danish and an Irish grandparent that we only admit to under duress, my taste for liquor included almost everything with the notable exception of Tequila, which caused instantaneous projectile vomiting, no matter how much or how little was consumed.

You really DID need to know that, didn’t you?!?

Letsee...vikings are from scandinavia. It’s cold up there in the nordic frozen forests. I’d say it’s a pretty safe bet the viking women did NOT dress too provocatively.

We do get summers up here in the frozen north as well. It's not like we have 3 feet of snow in July ;)

If I had been addressing you (which I was not) I would have made it a point to write either in English, or one of the Algic languages you appear to be familiar with.

As for my place of residence, although I am a first generation American, I live within ten miles of my boyhood home, which for all practical purposes puts me at home now - with nowhere to go back to.

You on the other hand, seem to have strayed from the place the Woge’ made ready for you and were placed in by Kowonnoekcon Nekanupeco.
