Tylenol? I was leaning toward something considerably stronger. CDBear, bless her heart, reminded me of what time I have to get up in the morning. We compromised. We are consoling ourselves with 2 big bowls of ice cream.

Are there any other CURRENT GOP Senators not supporting their colleague McPain?
This does not bode well for Senor Juan.

I can define Trent Lott for you... he is a rino waiting on the criminal investigation of his brother-in-law to lead to his own indictment. At least that is a real possibility. One thing we in Mississippi know how to do and that is tell it like it is. Thad is not anything like Trent. He is an Honorable and Conservative Senator. I disagree with his endorsement but I understand it. I disagree with him endorsing anyone at this time.

I am in Mississippi, and you are right to some extent, but I still have issues with Mitt, as do may others down here. I will vote for him, but he bears watching, I can’t turn my back like I could have with Thompson. I think the ardent Mitt supporters need to bear that in mind. Admit his shortcomings and enjoy the support Thompson’s withdrawal created.
Cochran is pragmatic and a good GOP soldier, so this is no surprise since McCain and Huckabee as a popular in Southern GOP circles as Syphilis...

My 1\2 cent
I am a Born Again Blood Washed Southern Baptist Christian.
I have many concerns about Mormon teachings and beliefs.
But for some reason I feel more inclined to vote for Mitt
than Mike. Not crazy about either one of them.
But I do know there is more than one “Huckester” in the SBC.
Bill and Al both claimed to be SB. At least you can
believe that Mike is a true Christian just in the
Jimmy Carter way not the Bill and Al way. BINOs

The only endorsement that meant much to me so far is Bork’s. All these others?
Blah.
But that’s just me.

Exactly. Thad knows the score and the Thompson departure left him little choice. It was a wise if not slightly disheartening decision.

Mitt is a default. As both an Orthodox Christian in beliefs and practicing in the Methodist church (I know, it’s for family)I have no real interest in his faith, I consider it a bit “strange”. But he seems to function in a most secular manner and the core focus of Mormonism is a good moral code in personal dealings, so as long as that separation is maintained I am good.
His Conservative bonafides disturb me more, but I will give benefit of the doubt and watch him like a hawk.
It also says a lot at how terrible Huckabee is that many are backing Mitt in the South.
It is a sad slate we have, but sadder still is the fact that the voters did it to themselves.
Oh well there is always this:
