Mubarak: Palestinians were allowed into Egypt on my orders

Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians crossed into Egypt from Gaza on Wednesday after gunmen destroyed about two-thirds of the Gaza-Egypt border wall. Most of the Gazans returned after stocking up on food and other basic supplies that have become scarce due to the blockade imposed on the territory by Israel.

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak announced that he had ordered his troops to allow Palestinians to cross into Egypt because they were starving.

Perhaps I'm showing my ignorance but why can Egypt build a wall to keep the Palestinians out and Israel get's hammered for building a fence? Where is Egypt's condemnation?

Just checking

The Palis should have been forced back into Egypt and Jordan right after the areas were taken, just as the Sudetan Germans were sent packing. It would have solved decades of strife.

Mubarak demonstrates why many view him as the single most overrated ‘leader’ on the planet.

Right, armed gunmen on the Pallies side of the wall were acting ‘on your orders’.

Riiiight. And John McCain believes we should build a fence first.....(eyes rolling)

Perhaps I'm showing my ignorance but how come Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and North Korea understand the importance of a border fence but the US Congress doesn't?

Most of the Gazans returned after stocking up on food and other basic supplies that have become scarce due to the blockade imposed on the territory by Israel.

I'll bet that the suckers at the Associated Press also believed that the UN's corrupt "Oil for Food" program was all about meeting Saddam's legitimate concerns over getting food to the Iraqi people.

It may not be a hard and fast requirement to be a credulous fool in order to get an AP byline, but it sure doesn't seem to hurt...

One standard for Israel, another for the world.

If Mubarak gave them permission to enter Egypt, why did the pali-pukes have to blow up the wall? Couldn’t they find the door?

“Perhaps I’m showing my ignorance but how come Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and North Korea understand the importance of a border fence but the US Congress doesn’t?”

I wondered the same thing.

“Along with food and water they also brought back new rockets.”

That thought didn’t even cross my mind but it is as valid as any.
