He’s a democrat. Nothing will happen to him. Except reelection.

He just didn’t get rich enough. If you get rich enough and powerful enough, you’re fine. Examples: the Clinton, the Anans and so on.

“At the time of the trips, Jefferson was fighting in Congress on behalf of the Botswanan diamond industry to derail or alter pending legislation to outlaw so-called “blood diamonds,” gems collected and sold by African rebel groups.”
So, WHO ARE THESE so-called Rebels?

There is no civil war in Botswana, so these aren’t “blood diamonds”, (though it appears to be a case of bribery). The real “blood diamonds” story concerns Jesse Jackson, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and the boy soldiers. Why don’t you report on that, Marxist Screened Media?

Yes, and if I recall correctly, they were all on board Air Force One with Clinton inc. on his "vacation trip" to Africa.

Demrats dont know toast...When the Jeffersons took the Debswana-funded trips, Congress was in the middle of a debate over what restrictions the United States should impose to weed out "blood diamonds" from entering the U.S. marketplace.
The Jeffersons. Just how funny is THAT? ('Movin' on up...')
My guess - this will be a resume enhancement.

Nothing like Congress in the middle of the marketplace, holding the economy hostage. Good job, Congress.

He’ll do two years and some democrat president will make him a judge or he’ll get re-elected.
To: Libloather
Jefferson did not report the trips to Congress, but a review of House ethics rules shows he would not have been required to report them if they were carried out for private purposes. Does this mean bribery if for a private purpose is legal?
