yep. that’s why so many stores have the little “preview” booths.
some bands i’ll blindly try, but i agree, most of them i want to hear something off an album before i shell out the money for it.
I’m willing to bet you’re a rarity.
The Fleshtones..now there’s a name I haven’t heard in a LONG time.
I love watching the slow-motion train wreck that is the modern music industry.

“NiggyTardust”?
I told my kids long ago that Reznor was a neo-Klansman.
Still going strong and doing a high energy show. It’s no reunion. They never stopped.
That's exactly what it was. It didn't work. Too many people hoped someone else would pony up.

Next thing you know we’ll find out he’s a Ron Paul supporter!
Well not likely otherwise he’d probably know something about economics.
I like NIN, and Trent ,but I never even heard that it was available lol marketing.
I still think it was a worthwhile endeavor.
Maybe the music stinks.
"hed probably know something about economics something
Publish a book and see how many reviewers come out of the woodwork asking for a Media copy.
Perhaps not.
Baen Publishing does pretty well with their free library. Of course, you have to have a product worth paying for, for this to work. I really like being able to check out new authors without having to commit $8-20. Jim Baen was a visionary.

My other response was the You Tube Videos that some of my students have posted (cute, just cute).
150k not bad...
You just proved my point.
Did you get paid at the end of the week at your job or do open source your work and live in a cardboard box?

In what way did I prove your point?
Jim Baen discovered that when he placed books on his website for free download, that the sales for the dead-tree books increased greatly. My wife and I both got into a couple of series that were made available on their website. So far, I think I've given away 5 copies of "1632" in addition to CDs with all the books they've made available on it. They've also got us hooked to the point that we buy hardbacks of everything in the 1632 'universe' as it comes out.
Overall, their drug-dealer attitude (the first one's free) has worked out pretty well for them as far as my family is concerned.
