FORT WORTH: A passenger on a Fort Worth bus says the T. Bus Service discriminated against her religion.
Christine Lutz says she was reading her Bible to her children when the bus driver asked her to stop or get off the bus

>>Only if they remove other people for talking to their children.<<
How about NOT talking to their children and letting them remain obnoxious?
Hellsbells, if you catch my kids and I on a bus, we’ll be talking and laughing but by far not disturbing.
Was she proselytizing? The excerpt seems to indicate she was reading to her children. If she was innocently reading to her children, the bus driver went too far.
Was she doing some “Begats”? Joking of course.
Have you ever ridden big city buses? I did for about two years in LA. There's a lot of noise on buses--a lot of really dysfunctional or criminal folks ride them and take their neuroses and other problems out on the other passengers.
She would have had to be reading REALLY loudly to be more offensive, noise-wise, than what I encountered several times a week. None of them ever got kicked off, even when they pulled knives.
Maybe Ft. Worth has only nice people riding buses.
exactly...wonder if she’d been reading little red riding hood if she’d gotten that response.
Sane people are naturally cautious when dealing with someone who is at least a little nuts and possibly unstable (as demonstrated by loudly reading a religious tract on a bus).
The driver did the appropriate thing. First he asker her to shut up. Then he gave her the boot.
My point was the fact that she was kicked off the bus for reading the Bible sounds like something they’d do in Saudi Arabia or some Shariah-run country.
she was performing a parental duty.
Besides, even if it were a “religious duty”, it doesn’t stipulate we teach our children to read the Bible in braille so that certain people aren’t “offended”. And you CAN do private things in public, like read to your child.
Softly and respectfully...granted.
sometimes I get on Marta and the music is so loud and obnoxious f this f that...and that’s WITH earphones...
but people don’t get twisted into pretzels threatening to throw these disrespectful hip-hoppers off the bus either.
I'd rather have a woman reading to her children from an edifying text on the bus than have her kids running around and screaming on the bus, which is more often the case and is far more disturbing/annoying.
True....better to allow the child to hear all the other “colorful” language on the bus no doubt?
The typical bus is anything but quiet, and most people give a rat’s rear end if there are women or children on the bus.
Just curioius. To whom is that enlightening remark aimed?
I have to agree. This is just as inappropriate as the Dixie Chics’ blabbermouthing in the wrong venue or forum. The story does not print her response to the “loud” accusation, so we can only assume she was being annoyingly loud.
The woman is fully qualified to run for President!
So reading a Bible to your child on the bus is now proselytizing?
Who knew?
Wow....she was reading the Bible to her child!
Doesn’t exactly strike me as a kook screaming the sky is falling and passing out tracts!
ummmmm, we’re already there.
I heard Rush go into a rant well over a year ago about a man being sued by his neighbor for smoking in HIS OWN HOME, ‘cause she was too sensistive...several hundred yards away, mind you.
She is nuts and unstable because she was reading a Bible to her children on a bus ??? Wow. Maybe she was trying to be a good parent by keeping her children from being bored and whiny, which I would find much more annoying
Nowhere does the article or clip say she was reading loudly
